Default Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router

I saw this at Villman Trinoma, php 9,990 (with 6 months paylite). I checked the reviews and it seems that it's required to install the Linksys EasyLink Setup Advisor. So that means, Airport Utility can not setup this router?

Another question, from the product page, there was a mention that a Linksys Dual band Wireless N adapter is required for optimum performance, of course Airport will still work but will there any speed transfer issues?

I have never used any router brand other than Apple, so if ever this will be the first. I am asking since this will a cheaper alternative than getting a new Time Capsule.

    Product info: Linksys WRT610N

Here's a review posted September 2008 and it seems there are some issues with mac, but I am sure Linksys already released a firmware update.

You use a web browser to configure it. Usually you just point it to http://192.168.1.1 and enter admin/admin as the username/password.

Thanks, meaning I will not have a hard time setting this up. Im supposed to buy it earlier but villman staff are 'mac challenged" so I had second thought and decided to ask first here. Also, there will be no issues regarding Linksys N adapter recommendation, right?

Might as well go back later, if not will get this by Sunday.

If you're looking for a Time Capsule replacement, I think you should first check if Time Machine will work with the Linksys + external drive set up. I cannot use Time Machine on my AEBS-N + Western Digital external hard drive set up.

Thanks guys, after reading different reviews and talking to Dan (loko_loko) I will just get either the Extreme or TC when it becomes available. But if I find a store selling this cheaper than villman, say less than 6k. I still might get this.

This actually is an upgrade (or downgrade) as I really want the dual band feature.

So I bought a WRT610N and flashed it with DD-WRT firmware because the Linksys firmware doesn't support WDS.

Problem: How do I access the USB function? I pluged my USB Flash drive into the router, so how can I access it via the network? I can't seem to find a straight answer. Anybody?

Looks like you have to use some proprietary filesystem for write access and install samba.
