Linksys Router on Mac Mini
Hi to all,
I recently purchased linksys router, followed the steps to set-up. ethernet cable from dsl modem to internet port of the router, ethernet cable from my mini to port 1 of the router. encoded all my isp information. i am using PPPOE to automatically connect to the internet indefinitely, still cant connect to the internet. the diagnostics stop at "ethernet is not connected" in fact it is. any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Linksys Router on Mac Mini
try checking the power supply, check the cables as well. it should be, dsl phone line connected to your dsl modem. ethernet cable connecting the mini and router. check out the light led as well if it lights up. (sometimes its the cable even though the led lights turns on)

Re: Linksys Router on Mac Mini
hi, it sounds like you've done all the right things to do with the linksys and your mini. But not sure how you mean by PPPoE to automatically connect. did you fill in with your username and password which some Internet providers require in using the PPPoE? (is this what you meant by "encoded all ISP informatio"?
on your network preferences, under connect through Ethernet, are you using DHCP Or manually? if you are on manually, you may need to provide DNS servers to your network prefernces setting (assuming you have put in your IP and router addresses and the subnet mask.. AUTOMATIC DHCP would not normally need those. please give it a go.

Re: Linksys Router on Mac Mini
Guys, thank you talaga, i got it running already. i entered the wrong username that's why ISP did not recognize it.
now i have another question: i want to connect to the internet wirelessly using my pc laptop.
i opened my pc laptop and here what it is saying in the wireless network connection:
See the router but its not acquiring the address of my pc laptop. it is "validating identity"
Also in the bubble message in taskbar says:
windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network linksys.
This is a different case from windows bonjour right? even though, i already have the windows bonjour in my pc laptop if that is the case.
thanks for further help.
