Re: Dl-524 Help!!!
go to your router: open safari, type in the address bar 192.168.1.1
when asked about admin and password, the default is admin, password admin as well.
go to wireless tab, to change the name, select manual.
to put password, go to wireless security and create your security mode. WEP is advisable.
hope this helps

Re: Dl-524 Help!!!
hi,
I think 192.168.1.1 is for Linksys routers. For DLink DI-524 its 192.168.0.1. But just try both and see which of the IPs work.
I'm using DI-524 and here are the steps:
1. Open any browser and go to http://192.168.0.1/.
2. When prompted for Username and Password, type in "admin" and leave password empty.
3. Click on "Home" on the top menu then click on "Wireless" on the left menu. or you can go directly to http://192.168.0.1/h_wireless.html
4. You'll be presented with the following:- Wireless Radio: Enabled
- SSID: default (Type here your desired wifi name)
- Channel: 6 (by default it's 6, but if you experience some interference from other devices you may change the channel).
- Security: WPA-PSK *
- Passphrase: yourpassphrase **
- Confirm Passphrase: yourpassphrase
5. Click on "Apply"
That's it!
Notes:
* Wireless Protected Access - Pre-Shared Key - Is more secure than WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and is designed for home and small office networks that don't require the complexity of an 802.1X authentication server. Devices that don't support WPA-PSK will not work, then you'll have to use WEP.
** Requires a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 63 characters.
Edit:
You should also go to "Tools" (http://192.168.0.1/tools_admin.html) and change the Usenames and Passwords for "admin" and "user" and then reboot (http://192.168.0.1/tools_misc.html) the router. So that the next time 192.168.0.1 is accessed, it will ask for the new username and password.
