Apple introduces new Simultaneous Dual Band WiFi Routers
After checking, noticed that there's still no thread for the new Apple Time Capsule and Airport Extreme.
Here's whats new with these dual band routers:
Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi.
For maximum range and compatibility, AirPort Extreme works simultaneously on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, allowing all the devices on the network to use the most efficient band automatically. And AirPort Extreme uses the latest 802.11n wireless technology so you can enjoy up to five times the performance and up to twice the range of 802.11g wireless networks.

Guest networking.
Now you can set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password for your visitors. Simply enable the new guest networking feature, and your guests can use the Internet but can't access other parts of your private network, such as your computers, printers, and attached hard drives.
Airport Extreme
Time Capsule
Other than those, its practically the same device as its older generation counterpart.
skinhead found an interesting new feature though, which I think will also work with our current APE and TC.

"Access your drive over the Internet.
Say you’re traveling and you need a file on the hard drive connected to your AirPort Extreme back at home. If you’re a MobileMe member using Mac OS X Leopard, no problem.* You can now access all the files on your shared drive over the Internet. Simply register your AirPort Extreme with your MobileMe account, and your drive appears in your Finder sidebar just like any other attached drive. It’s like having your own personal file server wherever you go."

this is a great update: One feature that is handy is the Guest Account. You give a seperate WiFi access password to your guests.

Re: Apple introduces new Simultaneous Dual Band WiFi Routers
Can the Guest networking feature at least trickle down to the older AEBS/Time Capsules? The dual-bands may be hardware specific...but then again it may mean that I set the 5Ghz as my secured access-all network while the 2.4Ghz band may be the guest wifi network, which may require the dual-band just for Guest networking to work...

Re: Apple introduces new Simultaneous Dual Band WiFi Routers
I've been wanting this feature ever since i got my TC. I found an easy but tethered work around - I just bought some very long cables for connecting my Mac so that it still gets the fastest speed when i need it (the iPod touch becomes a wifi bottleneck when used)
thanks skinhead for the guide, though I can't seem to connect. anyway, no biggie but nce to have though

Re: Apple introduces new Simultaneous Dual Band WiFi Routers
^^ honestly, havent tried the guide i posted since i own a NAS (d-link 323) na and with opendns i can access my files anywhere. But looking at the guide i dont see any reason why it shouldnt work
back to the topic, i think the dual band wifi is really makes me wanna buy it but i own a wireless N1 Vision by belkin now and on dedicated N signal i can only get 240MB, how bout you TC and AEBS owners? can get you get the 300mb advertise speed?

From Apple Sales internal site via TUAW:
Note for existing AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule customers
Existing AirPort Extreme (MA073 and MB053) and Time Capsule (MB276 and MB277) customers can access their AirPort Disk / Time Capsule disk through Mobile Me over the Internet by upgrading to AirPort Utility 5.4.1 and AirPort firmware 7.4.1. Subscription to Mobile Me online services is required for this feature. Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi and Guest Networking features are only available to new AirPort Extreme (MB763) and Time Capsule (MB764 and MB765) customers.
Woohoo! At least our old TCs and APE gain a new feature. One less reason to get the new APE. But that dual band is still pretty compelling
