Airport Extreme Dual-Band AirDisk problem
Hi guys, I have a weird problem:
I have an HFS+J-formatted USB HDD connected directly to the extreme's USB port. When I copy files from my uMBP on 10.6.1 over to the airdisk, the filesize of the transferred file is incorrect - for example, I copy a 250MB file over to the airdisk, the progress indicator will say "250MB of 250MB" has been copied but when you look at the file size of the file that was transferred over, it's less than 250MB, sometimes 100MB+, 57MB+, etc. Sometimes, the file size is correct but the icon is blank and kinda transparent/translucent so you cannot double click it.
Already did the ff steps to isolate but it didn't solve the problem:
1. Reset settings to factory default
2. Downgrade firmware to 7.4, 7.4.1
3. Reloaded 7.4.2
4. Tried different Macs with 10.6, 10.6.1, 10.5.7 - even went as far as doing a 10.5.7 and 10.6 clean install on an external drive
5. Tried a couple of different USB HDDs
I left the unit with iRescue this afternoon.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem with their Airport Extreme Dual Band Base Station?
TIA!

Re: Airport Extreme Dual-Band AirDisk problem
anybody else experience this?
the fix we tried is, to send another file... (the first file transfered can be clicked or opened, but the 2nd file cant)
when everybody calls nokia... i answered iPhone; when people peek at windows... i stared at MAC; when humans aim w/ canon... i shoot with Łeica; when they swim with padi... i dive with Naui; when all men wear Hanes... i wear none

Update:
I already elevated this issue to the Apple AEBS Product Specialist in Australia.
According to him, they are already working on a fix and will inform me of any developments.
