Default Airport Extreme Basestation bandwidth monitor

Is there an app that will allow me to see who is connected to my wifi network and know how much bandwidth they are using? Having the ability to limit or disable their usage will also be nice. I can see who is connected now in Airport Utility but can do very little with it.

for monitoring connected machines, you may use the airport utility in applications -> utilities. just click on advanced->logging and snmp->logs and statistics.

re: limiting bandwidth usage and other admin utilities, i'd like to know too.

Yes I've been using Airport Utility for security and logs. But it does little more. I want to be able to control bandwidth and usage per machine. Or at the very least, see how much they are using.

if there is any, you have to have a gateway computer with application installed. I wish they would incorporate this, then i would buy AX or AE.

That's also why I sold my APE and got me a Linksys WRT54GL instead. I think they (Apple) forgot to incorporate much of these important management and security features.

with all due respect, the ape is not an apx, bro.

it is not a wireless n/gigabit router with usb printer and network disk support. to get the same things on a linksys or an ape, you will need to purchase other hardware separately and in the end it will cost more than if you just got an apx.

i had a third-party g router before with all the bells and whistles, but gladly traded it for my apx because i wanted print server and airport disk capability built into my router.....

hey bro, how much did you buy your WRT54GL? Since we use diff printers for diff machine, this might be great for limiting bandwidth.

Now it seems the ability to throttle bandwidth of connected devices is more important to me than seeing their speed. I guess no app can do that. It has to be a gateway of sorts.
