Any fix for "mobile network" not to switch to another carrier when in an area with poor reception?

I've already set "Network Selection Mode" to manual, yet it still manages to switch and lock to a different carrier when I lose my Globe signal (caught it a few times sporting the SOS notif on the signal bar and upon checking, it locked itself to Smart's network. Had to scan for networks again and manually switch it back to Globe).

I think this is also the reason why I get "SIM card rejected" from time to time.

Any insight regarding the matter would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA!

Finally was able to dispose my 2 year old Curve 8520.

Now why BB? If you have relatives/frequent concerns outside the country, BBM is the way to go. One more thing is the ease of composing emails via a smartphone had never been great. Also, BB have poor batteries, so make sure not to drain them everyday, when it's below 50% make sure a USB or a wall charger is always there and plug it and make sure not to overcharge it. Making this a habit will extend the life of your battery (mine still lasts a day after 2 years of use). Better to leave it drained overnight than to leave it plugged in.

What I like from this phone is that I seldom use it for social networking as based from my experience, app world is a daily nightmare. IMHO, I think you'll stand out if some of your so-called "pa-sosyal" friends would find it odd that you are not using it for FB,twitter, etc.

Instead you use BB for its sole-purpose when they started out-"PUSH-MAIL". HTH

Hi, have you tried switching it back to "automatic" mode? I suggest you let the phone do its job at least for a day by not using manual mode. Observe it for a day or two and send us your findings right after. Thanks

Hi, what network are you using? I don't know if this is still working but way back early 00's, *33#1234# is for call barring, unlocking it is #33#1234#. And by the way, this works for globe, I can't remember if smart has the same code or even the mentioned code above still works, but it's worth a try. (now typing.......*33) hahaha!

Yes. Had it on automatic before. But since i kept on receiving "SIM Card Rejected" a lot, tech support advised to set it to manual. Still the same tho'
