    Default Stronghold & Macsoft Games

Macsoft has really great titles like Neverwinter Nights, Age of Mythology, etc. They're a publisher, right? What does that mean? Are they the ones responsible for porting the PC-based games for the Mac?

What aroused my curiousity on this is that after purchasing Neverwinter Nights for the Mac, I noticed that Bioware stated that Macsoft will be the one to release the expansions for the Mac. Then a friend told me about Age of Mythology and Stronghold. I gave Age of Mythology and Stronghold a try and I love 'em both! Checking on the website of Firefly Studios, I learned that Stronghold 2 will be on a 3D engine already and will be released in April this year! But, there seems to be no signs that a Mac version will come out. Even Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold Warchest are not available for the Mac, and these games are several years old already.

A publisher is only responsible for the distribution of the game, the developers are the one that makes them or port them to other formats. visit the developer website to see if they will support you platform. (e.g. PC cdrom, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, MAC. etc etc)

Seems like that. But, take the case of Halo. Halo is by Microsoft Game Studios, but when I went to the Microsoft site, I could not find an indication for a Mac port of Halo. However, Mac Soft Games publishes the Mac version. So, who made the port?
