Slow in 'Secure'-emptying Trash?
Muggers, is there any way to speed things up in securely erasing the trash bin? I feel like the process is hugging up the system. Bumabagal lahat ng apps ko, and from the looks of it, it is deleting an average of 1-2 items per second, eh my trash amassed 21,000 junks.
any help is appreciated.

I don't think you can really speed it up, the secure empty trash procedure, erases and overwrites the files multiple times. 21k files will take sometime.
if the files are not that sensitive, use the normal empty trash.
then use the secure empty trash again when you have less than 21,000 files

hard drive seems to spin wildly too (writing a lot of 0's and I's i guess) and if you are multi-tasking at the same time chances are its gonna get real slow.

You don't really need to do a secure-empty unless the data you are trying to wipe out has wikileaks-esque classification.
You'd probably do that right before handing your harddrive or Mac for a repair or for a re-sale.

may i just ask. is the space you save when you use either the secure or normal emptying the same?

1mb is 1mb no matter what method you use, the difference is in normal method, the chance of recovering the deleted file is very good, while the secure method, it completely erases the file, no chance of recovery.

Re: Slow in 'Secure'-emptying Trash?
you'll have to use specialized software/service for that
for lists of software/service muggers use. read here: Data Recovery Software
