Pros and Cons of engraving ?

Perhaps if you're the collector type...someone who keeps gadgets even it reaches its end of life...then engraving might be a good idea.

Or if you're giving it as a gift to a GF...that even if you break-up...and you still want her to remember you forever (unless of course it's smashed up to pieces).

Otherwise, forget it! My opinion.

It's the same as to people tattoing names of their girlfriends on their body...then later break up. Engravings = tramp stamps.

engraving usually done if it's going to be given as a gift. for personal purchases i rather have it as it is.

I wouldn't recommend engraving for the following reasons:
A. It might be hard to resell the device
B. We normally have a protective cover for our devices so no one really sees the engraving anyway
C. It's permanent. If you decide you don't like what you had engraved, it would still be there,

That being said, for my bf's birthday, i gave him an ipod with an engraving. I had it engraved because i wanted it personalized and so that he wouldn't sell it. Hahaha he could still sell it though if he wanted to eventually upgrade. He has a back case for it so no one gets to see it. But for us, it's enough to know it's there
