Question iPhone Setup to Mac Transfer

PROBLEM: Is there a way I can Backup all my iPhone contents to Mac or iTunes and Sync it?

My apologies for making this thread as I badly need help. I have already checked online and did my initial research but I am still not sure how to proceed.

I need to know how to sync my iPhone and retain my setup. I sold my MBP to a friend and due to circumstances, I accidentally forgot to backup my iTunes and reinstalled OS X on it back to factory state.

To put it simply, what I have now are my iPhone and my new Mac system. How do I sync my phone on iTunes without losing everything? Is it possible? Is there a way that I can do this?

Appreciate all the help and feedback.

i know you can save the contacts and calendar, i'm not sure about the rest.
just make an entry in your Address Book then merge.

correct me if im wrong, the only data you will lose are music and movies (which can all be synced again) the rest can be backed up again on the new itunes install

been a while since i have last done this but i hope it helps

    Appreciate all the advice.

I'll try to figure it out.

My concern are my contacts list and downloaded apps.

How about backing up to iCloud? Then restoring to iPhone?
