digital walker discounts

hi, i just bought a new macbook pro and wanted to update you guys on some stuff..

there is NO longer a discount for philmug members at the digital walker (dw). however, there is a huge discount for cash transactions. i got my macbook pro for only Php54,550 from it's original price of Php61,990..

but, as an added benefit, dw gives you an additional Php1,000 worth of gift voucher (2k for walkins, 3k for philmug users)..

also, dw has a lower price than power mac center (understatement?).. can anybody tell me the reason why an authorized apple reseller has a higher price than the apple online store?

I think that's their promo right now. I inquired at pods at digital walker in Trinoma the other day about an iPad and asked them regarding philmug discount but was told that there's a GC of P1,500 for philmug members and P1,000 for walk-ins.

hi, i've been wanting to buy a mbp since december but i read somewhere a new ones coming out soon so i've been waiting ever since, hehe...

now that they're finally out, i'm canvassing where to buy i've read in a couple of threads charlie of digital walker give discounts ... i was looking on how to contact him when i stumbled upon this thread

question on philmug discount in digital walker (or in this case, the gift voucher) - do you just need to ask for it when buying from digital walker, nothing special needed?

BTW, welcome to PhilMUG

Bought about more then a dozen Macs (and plan to buy more) from Sir Charlie and have always been given a good deal this past two years. To get a good deal you must first contact Charlie directly through PM or email - if you walk in Digital Hub/Walker and simply ask for a discount without authorization you will only get the regular price and a small discount.

@mojcute14 did you contact Sir Charlie before buying your Macbook Pro?

Sir Charlie gives really good discounts to members of PhilMUG. I was supposed to buy the 2010 mbp before (but it was out of stock) and he gave me a really good rate for it. He gave me the biggest discount I've yet encountered since I started looking for the MBP.

No word about the new ones yet but maybe in a week there'll be. But he definitely gives the best deals I know of. I can't wait to buy the new mbp, I'm pretty sure he'll give us good discounts for it too, the only question is, when it will arrive, but I think it's worth the wait.

Regarding the gift voucher it is given to you when you purchase an item like iPod, iPad. Not sure though if it applies to macbooks cause I only inquired about the iPad at pods by digital walker in Trinoma.

hi! here's an additional info on the new mac book pros...

The new MacBook Pros may have not really changed much on the outside, but the inside is really where the difference lies.

As expected, they are going to ship with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 chips. Apple has ditched Nvidia for AMD Radeon HD 6000 Graphics (for the 14.5 and 17-inch versions). Then there's the new FaceTime HD cameras, which have triple the resolution of the iSight webcam of the previous-generation MBPs and can record in full HD. Noooice! The Thunderbolt connector (Intel's Light Peak technology), which allows for amped-up file-transfer speeds, is also making its debut.
