I would have to agree with jaijin. We currently have two ISP subscriptions at home, one PLDT (DSL) and one Smart Bro (fixed wireless). Smart Bro has been exceptionally stable and reliable lately, since I think they just put up a new tower nearby.

It would probably help if you tell us where you're located, so that muggers located nearby can share their experiences with the various ISPs.

could you recommend what's a good internet plan for home use? we are really suffering here. =)

    TIA!
I feel you bro, we got the same problem back then, we are subscribed to Globe 512mb and getting that .32kb per second. What we did was to upgrade our plan to 1mb. Happy with the connection now and still subscribed to it. (btw I live in Marikina)

well i'm very happy with my internet connection here in the condo - average download speed is at around 80-120kbps but I've seen it go as fast as 180Kbps.

    It's smart bro.

But the smart bro at home is not as fast, i think it depends in your location. my condo is at malate, manila; house is at antipolo.

For wired connections, better ask neighbors about their current connections. Some telcos provide trials so call them and ask for a test run.

And it is always good to have a wireless backup or two -- dongles from different telcos just in case your wired home connection goes kaput.

A friend of mine is subscribed to sky broadband in Greenhills East Village and i never heard him complain about his connection. I also believe Sky can give you several days trial period in your area.

better upgrade your plan, mine used to be 999 but I've upgraded 2 levels I think (next is about 1,300) mine now is about 2,200 combo plan.

ALso the site matters, which provider has transmitter in your area. I used globe but shifted to PLDT for the same amount but 4x the speed because I they have a transmitter near my place.
