Re: how will you (your parents/wife/children/etc) use the iPad?
stumbled upon this http://adactio.com/journal/1644/. its a pretty ok post which kind of shares my thoughts on the iPad. there's one part of it though that made me think that it'll make a good thread in this forum:
I’ve already seen people on Twitter sharing some ideas for the uses to which the iPad could be put:
- displaying sheet music on a music stand,
- showing recipes on a kitchen worktop,
- playing scrabble, sudoku and crosswords,
- reading comics,
- reading magazines a la Mag+,
- reading books in a way that doesn’t involve the silly page-turning visual metaphor built into the iBooks app.
so.. i ask you, fellow philmugger, how would you (or your mom/dad/sibling/child/etc) use the iPad?
for me :
1. my 2 yr old son will use the ipad to watch videos and play educational, child-friendly games (during long road trips for example)
2. i'll use it to read bedtime stories to my son.
3. my wife would use it for last minute facebook/twitter before sleeping.
4. will probably use it as a roadmap/gps navigator in road trips.

I will use it as an eBook reader, a notepad, and a digital picture frame because I read somewhere that when it is in the dock or charging, it can function as one.

Learn to play the piano virtually with Grand Pro piano app. Learn to read music notes while am at it. iPod Touch screen so small.

iPad would indeed be a nice gps/ roadmap navigator.
imagine that big screen showing the map / route.
