    Help!
I cant' pop out the SIM tray on my iPhone (1st gen, 8GB). When I put a pin in the eject hole, I cannot feel the switch anymore. so, now it won't eject and my SIM is stuch in there.

    Thanks for any help/advice.

what kind of pin are you using? the one that came with the iphone? some pins are too fat for the release button.
you can also try hooking your pin to the sim tray, but dont force it if it doesn't move..

last resort, go to greenhills and ask someone to open up the iphone for you. maybe check if the sim tray is still ok..

its a known problem for iphone sim tray,
just use a tooth pick with a little bigger diameter, insert then pull it out together with the tray,
but if the sim is stuck, then better seek professional help.

    good luck

paperclip, needle, pin-needle, etc....etc that fits in the hole. just be sure its not too fat for the hole.

uncoated paperclip is the one I've used since the 2G came out back in 2007.

sorry to revive an old thread, just want to ask, is it safe to use a needle (the sharp one) as the eject tool? i always find myself misplacing my eject tool... just worried that i might be hitting something inside that i shouldnt with the sharp needle... thanks in advance

A paper clip would be the best alternative if you lost your sim ejector tool.

Indeed, why use a sharp needle when you can use a thin steel paperclip (not the kind with the plastic wrapping). I keep one of these clips in my wallet all the time.
