iPhone 4's 850Mhz Band on Smart Mobile Internet
1. Smart Communications has HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) 850Mhz network with speeds of up to 20Mbps.
2. iPhone 4 contains a Penta-Band 3G UMTS antenna. The radio inside the device supports; 800, 850Mhz, 900, 1900 and 2100MHz frequencies.
For those using their iPhone 4s on Smart Wireless Internet, was there an improvement in signal connection strength, a more consistent throughput, an improved connection reliabilty and an increased speed/bandwidth as a result?

The 850 band is used almost exclusively by smart shareit, which is horrible. The band doesnt mean its better internet, just better signal penetrations through buildings. If the backhaul is bad then the internet speed would be regardless of which band ur using

HSPA+ hasn't been released yet. Smart uses HSPA (no plus sign). their 850 MHz does not support all devices; i bought my E71 since the specs sheet says it can use the 850 MHz band. turns out nokia's and smart's 850 MHz do not match.
