    Default iPhone 4 Proximity Sensor

I'm already running on ios 4.1 and this proximity sensor problem is really getting into my nerves. Its still evidently buggy coz lcd turns on erratically during calls resulting to accidental taps on the screen. More often than not it goes into speakerphone mode. Does this happen to your ip4's too? Is there a fix?

Speakerphone or keypad touches. Pressing the sleep/wake button ends your call, but if you intend to stay on the line for at least 30 mins, plug in your earphones/headset, press the sleep/wake button during the call, and unplug. works every night.

Plugging the headset is the least of the options i'd like to take coz i dont have it all the time.
This never happened to my old 3g. Are all iphone 4's plagued with this hardware glitch?

Yes I have. Installed a belkin clear type screen protector. But I've used one as well with my 3g and never had a problem.

try to remove it and see if its ok, sometime those free from cases are not clear enough to make the sensor active,
if its ok when removed, then fine a good 1 or those with hole at the sensor (above the ear speaker).
hope this help, but am not sure as I don't have an iPhone 4, weep!

The sensor actually works its just that sometimes in the middle of a call, the lcd just lights up even if the phone is right next to the ear.

Never had this issue even when I was on 4.0.2otb. Could be a hardware thing...
