Ipad Touchcreen Lifespan
As a non Apple user I am starting to have regrets jumping to the PC side.
Anyway, I now have an Ipad. I like it so much I am afraid to take it apart (to see how it works personally hehehe ).
I ask the Apple Gods out there how long, in usual use that is, will the touch screen last before it gives up its ghost.
Maybe as a benchmark how are the users of the 1st gen Iphones doing with their screens, same tech right?

Re: Ipad Touchcreen Lifespan
i once had an iphone 2g that was bought year 2007... i recently sold it and it had no pixel problem of any kind. As with any tech device, just handle it with care and it should work out fine...

I still have my very first gen iPhone. One of the first person who got theirs since it was launched. It suffered a nasty fall (I mean really nasty) a month ago. Except for the straight line in the middle of the screen where it got hit, everything seems to work fine.
I have been an Apple user since 2006 and I can tell you that Apple products are the best. And at this day in age, with new upgrades coming out every year, lifespan of an electronic gadget isnt even a question anymore. Get what I'm saying?

I know right. And since apple products tend to do an upgrade every year. Then I don't think you will also not upgrade. For me 2 years would already be long for my gadget to last and as long as I hit that mark I'm very happy with that already. Now time to upgrade. Hehe.

Re: Ipad Touchcreen Lifespan
I think you guys are right. Did some more research and found that the capacitive screens have a usual span from 3 to 5 years. By that time naka ipad v3 na tayo. Also gadgetlust wont keep one from getting an upgrade in half a year or so.

you would prob lust over the 2nd gen or 3rd gen ipad before the screen dies.

Re: Ipad Touchcreen Lifespan
Our iPhone classic 8GB bought in Sep 2007 is still going strong, with no signs of quitting.
Excellent device. Remember when people were worried the battery will die in a year? No signs of that on this one. So much about the Rev A curse.

Re: Ipad Touchcreen Lifespan
I used to own a First Gen iPhone. After more than a year of usage, an entire line on the screen became unresponsive. So I had a hard time clicking some of the icons and accessing some of the programs. Anyway, I didn't bother having it fixed at the Service Center since I was already also set at buying a new phone. So I just sold it at a very low price.
But among all the phones i've owned/used before, the iPhone is STILL the best.
