Ipad mail question
Hi,
I just have a question regarding mail in particular (Mac, Iphone,Ipad).
I have 2 maIn email accounts setup in my iphone and ipad. One is yahoo mail and one is for my business email which is name@company.com. My question is, why is it that when i read my emails (my business email) from my ipad, it will still show as unread when i open my mail in my iphone and mac. However this is not the case on my yahoo mail. When i read it in my ipad, it will show that it is marked as read in my iphone. Is it possible to do this in my business email as well. If so, could anybody teach me how? I tried searching but cannot find anything. It's getting annoying. The server of my business is mail.company.com if that will help.
MODS: if i am in the wrong thread or topic, i apologize.
Thanks

Re: Ipad mail question
first of all, is your company mail 'push' enabled?
coz it could be that youre just downloading copies of your company mail from your mail server.. it doesnt really update it when you read it, if you have the option to 'sync/update' the mail server, then your problem should be solved.

Re: Ipad mail question
Thanks for the reply waxx. I believe it is push enabled although not 100% sure. I also have a blackberry and I get my emails there real time. Does it make a difference? What can I do to get this to sync?
Thanks again

hmmm im not sure how to go about it, coz it depends on email server implementation.. somewhere in the mail settings option i believe...

Re: Ipad mail question
You'd have to check whether your company email is IMAP4 or MS Exchange Server. These two are the mainstream email servers that enables two-way sync. If it is set up as POP3 then you won't get that feature.

Re: Ipad mail question
Finally fixed it. Thanks bacchus_3. I tried to set up my email on my iphone and ipad as IMAP servers and it worked. two way syncing is now good! Now, every time I open my mail in my mac, it is already marked read when I check it on my ipad and iphone and vice versa! Thanks for all the input guys.

Re: Ipad mail question
This is not exactly related to the original question, but I'm new and I can't seem to find the "start thread" option. Here's hoping the powers-that-be can read this and answer
The Mail app in my mac can't use free yahoomail. I'm only able to access my gmail on it. But my ipad has no such problem: it can access yahoomail just fine. Why can my ipad do it but not my mac? I thought mac Mail can only access Yahoo plus? Did I miss a mac update?

Re: Ipad mail question
^ Nope, you did not miss anything. Yes, regular yahoo email may not be be accessed by the mail app in your MAC. I've read the technical reasons somewhere but I cannot remember where exactly or why you can't. What I do remember is yahoo does not allow it.
The iPad can do it just fine as it connects to the servers only when you go to the mail app, quite similar to the way you go to safari and log in to your email.

This is a great group. Ask and you shall be answered
Mail app works great on the iPad. I don't suppose we'll get the server only option in the Mac any time soon.

Re: Ipad mail question
Can someone quickly explain to my why I can register my Yahoo! Mail in my iPad Mail and but not in my Macbook Mail?
Shouldn't they work the same?
Thanks!
