    Default iPad Car Mount

Hey guys! I just want to share a great item I found this afternoon in VMall. I've been looking for a solution on how I could mount my iPad on my car ever since I got it. I finally found one. And it costs only 600 pesos! I am attaching pictures of how it looks like.

I tested driving while it is mounted on the windshield and it looked sturdy enough. I am excited to use it in the car more often.

Wouldn't it be too much of a safety hazard if it is windshield mounted since it decreases your line of sight vision?

That is too high for a 9" distraction (agree with Wiretap_MD). I guess one speed hump would knock it off the dashboard but do let us know if it can withstand it.

I also think that its too big for the windshield. iPods and PSP sized screens are Ok but are almost a safety hazard.

Youre just asking for trouble if you use this while your driving.

I thought that its illegal to have anything blocking your view from inside the car. Eg. Fluffy dice, Id's or badges hanging from rear view mirror. stuffed toys on the dashboard, cd cases on the dash or anything that obstructs your view of the road.

If you get involved in a collision. God forbid. Then the investigating officer sees this on your dash. I dont think that youd stand a chance of blaming it on the other party. Even if its their fault.

This is another large projectile waiting to be launched and will definitely cause harm to the people inside the car.

Just imagine an iPad traveling 60mph and lands screen first into your face. Ehehehe...

Of course, one good use for it is not inside the car but outside of it. With a little DIY flair or a glass top table, you can free up some desk space by using this. Perfect for cluttered workspaces and might even be mountable with some elbow grease to the bottom of a shelf of your computer table or on the wall if you like.

Shinrai has the right idea for this car mount -- not to be used in the car.

Hey guys! I got one exactly like this but I got it in one store in Gilmore for only Php 150. I saw this also in Greenhills for the same price as the thread starter. So when I saw this sold cheap...I got one just to test it out. The suction cup on this car mount is really good when installed properly. So no worries of it falling off when mounted. However, I'd still be careful leaving it out in the sun as most suction cup mounts for devices I've tried before, eventually fall off when left too long under the warmth of the sun on the wind screen. The plastic part of this car mount is similar to an iPad case but is thin and very brittle. It cracked immediately when I installed the iPad in place. As soon as I found a place for the iPad on the windscreen I tried using it while I was driving and I found the gooseneck to be very "bouncy"! My purpose for using the mount was to use my iPad to display automative gauges and dyne apps while driving. It definitely did the job but in the end I removed the mount and just gave it away. I'm not sure if I can recommend the product but at the price I got it for its very cheap so you can go ahead and try it out for yourself and see if it's for you
