Globe is no longer selling iPhone 3GS prepaid units???

I went to Globe in Greenhills yesterday with the intention to buy an iPhone 3GS 32GB prepaid kit (SRP at PhP 39,995) and replace my Globe iPhone 3GS (32GB) which was stolen less than a month ago.

When I got to the Globe Sales counter, I told them that I wanted to buy a prepaid kit. I was informed that Globe is no longer selling prepaid iPhone units, all iPhones are only for loyalty customers.

I asked them if it was the same for all branches and they told me "yes". I informed them that I called Globe Customer Service to ask for the price (39,995) but was not informed by the CS Rep about this.

Me: "Is it because the iPhone 4 is coming out already?"
Counter rep: "No idea, sir."
Me: "So how can I get a new iPhone from Globe?"
CR: "Sir, you can try the Apple Centers upstairs"
Me: "Uhm... hello... Isn't the iPhone exclusive only to Globe?" [DUH!!! I'm buying an iPhone not an iPod Touch]
CR: "Yes sir."
Me: "Then how the hell.... never mind..." (walks out)

I wanted to slap the guy silly with the answers he was giving me.

I know some apple stores like istudio also sell the globe locked iphones before.

Finally, the 8 gig 3GS on the Globe website! That's gotta be the precursor for the iPhone 4.

Why not just wait for the iPhone 4? You're willing to purchase a 39,995 3GS, why not add 5K and get the iPhone 4 coming in two weeks from one of our friends from Australia?

I believe the 3gs prepaid kit posters explicitly mentioned the promo to be until July 31 2010 only.

Pardon me, I meant to say that the posters for the 16 and 32 gb iphones were up to July 31 only. I have not seen the posters for the 8gb models.

Look at the link above. The 8gb 3gs is 28+.

This is what I get for not explaining what I mean. LOL.

Yup the aforementioned site, indicates a promo period up to August 7. But this is exclusively for the new 8gb 3gs.

Wolfjazz started the thread with the 32gb in mind, which is no longer available from Globe. I was just reminding everyone that the promo for the 16 and 32gb 3gs had an end date of July 31, as stated on their posters. I think if you go into a Globe office now, there is a chance that those posters will still be up.
