Can you activate a brandnew Iphone 4 without a sim?

Hi, I'm expecting a factory unlocked Iphone 4 today. But My sim is not cut yet. Is it possible to test and play with the unit by just connecting it to my pc without a sim?

I don't think so Totoro, you'll need a sim to activate your iPhone. Otherwise, you'll just see the "connect to itunes" screen.

You best hurry and go to decode's store in GH right after you get your iPhone. That's what I did

I actually bought a prepaid sim just for this purpose and to test the phone. I returned to decode's store the next day and had my postpaid sim cut.

Aww, too bad. I was supposed to have my sim cut this week in preparation but I was so busy at work.

Do you have Decode's location in GH, any landmarks or easy paths to get there? I know its been discussed many times but I forgot which thread. Thanks very much.

You can cut the microsim yourself, it's not that hard. Made two na myself.

hi, leo, i've also cut some sims into microsims myself (it gets better with practice) in anticipation of getting my iphone tomorrow night. my question is, what kind of tolerances are we dealing with here in respect of the microsim tray? is it okay or better to be a bit tight, a bit loose, or does it have to be an absolutely perfect fit? i don't want my homemade microsim jamming that tray, thanks!
