Default Why the iPad was created - Flipboard

    Just a mini-review.

You must have all heard that the main function of the iPad is to consume content. There are several specialized 'content' apps out there that really takes advantage of the iPad huge display and touch screen like magazine apps, RSS readers, etc. Today, a new app has launched that I can't really say blows the competition, but rather adds to reason why the iPad has a place in the mobile world -- Flipboard ( http://www.flipboard.com/ ).

I've been playing with it for a few hours now. What I like about Flipboard is how it auto formats all its feed in a magazine layout. This includes all the tweets and posts from your friends in Twitter and Facebook. What's more, it doesn't just stop at posting the tweet or post. If you added a link to an article or picture or a gallery in your tweet or post, Flipboard shows them automatically as well. Here's a sample screenshot of how tweets look like in Flipboard:

It doesn't stop there. If you tap on an item, it lets you reply on that tweet or Facebook post direct from Flipboard. You can even see all the replies and re-tweets of the post/tweet as well which is pretty cool.

Aside from Twitter and Facebook, it has it's own set of feeds that you can subscribe to like TED, GigaOm, and custom Flipboard feeds. What I would like to see in the future however if for it to connect to my personal Google Reader feeds.

It's hard to explain how it all works unless you see it so for those with iPads, go and download it. It's free.

The interface is good but it seems that Flipboard was not that prepared for the influx of interested users. Couldn't connect to my Facebook and Twitter accounts since I downloaded it.

Tried this out, took me a while to sign in, but after getting in, it was smooth sailing from there. I love the magazine style layouts for your tweets and friend feeds.

Just keep on trying, took me an entire day to be able to log in my FB and Twitter. It's a very nice app! I Love it!

It might have to do with the sudden popularity it's having. Servers can't handle the load.
