Red face iPhone 3GS Speaker No Longer Working

    I Need Help!

Just this morning the speaker of my iPhone 3GS is no longer working... I have no idea why...

I was still playing God Finger and I have noticed the speaker is no longer working and I just ignored it... an hour after I received a text message and the message alert is working so i thought the speaker is already ok but when I received the second text there is no sound anymore... huhuhu...

But when I am using my the apple provided earphone it is working (I mean my iPhone 3GS audio is working) and If I'm gonna listen to the audio using my Philips Wireless Headset it is working fine as well (connected via bluetooth)...

I have tried inserting and removing the earphone from it's jack still not working and I have tried reset and restore, still not working...

I hope I am not in deep trouble...

This appears to be a known defect of the 3gs. Have the same problem with my 3gs. The speaker stopped working after using the earphones.

Am having it repaired tomorrow with Globe.

Hmmm, on my case I have not used any earphone or headsets for the past few days when it lost its audio yesterday... anyways i'll try to check if there is any remedy... I just hope it is not hardware issue...

Question is, are you running 4.1 firmware already or the older firmware? If you are still running 4.0 firmware, an update of the firmware should do the trick before you go out and have it checked out.

is the phone a Globe locked unit and under warranty? if so you could go straight to any Globe business center and have it checked immediately.

The picture here is of a brilliant, successful yet amazingly narrow, limited, and ungenerous man, who, even as he was dying, could not let go of his desire to outdo his enemies.

Scour the net for similar iphone problems. There are plenty. And there is no definitive solution...

I am already running 4.1 firmware... and I'm hope that Apple will release iOS 4.2 early next week (the sooner the better) so that I can check if the problem is hardware...

My iPhone was bought in Apple Online Store Hong Kong and it is factory unlocked...
(it was never jail broken or something...)

I have already scoured the net for more than two days already and I could not find similar problem... I agree that there is no definitive solution(s) and I have tried several of them and to no avail...

Why not try and restore the 4.1 FW again and see if it can fix the issue?
