Cool Have an iPhone 3G or 3GS? Have fun playing Gowalla. :)

    Hey folks,

I don't own an iPhone but now that I know of this App/Game that available for free download on the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gowalla/id304510106?mt=8

It's called Gowalla. As the FAQ reads:

Gowalla is a location-based travel game that rewards you for visiting both extraordinary and everyday places with your iPhone. In other words, it’s a bit like having a passport on your iPhone that displays beautifully designed “stamps” from all the places you visit.
In addition to collecting stamps from real-world locations, Gowalla also lets you gather virtual souvenirs, or icons, that can be traded with friends or hidden for others to find. Think of it like virtual geocaching...

Stamps are added to your passport when you check in at real-world locations with your phone. They’re a collectible visual reminder of all the wonderful places you’ve been. At least we hope they were wonderful places.

Icons are digital souvenirs that can be found at various Spots you visit. Each icon is marked with an issue number so you can track where it’s been. We are adding new icons to Gowalla all the time, so get hunting!
Pins of Glory are achievements that we award to you for completing specific tasks or trips. They are the ultimate measure of Gowalla Greatness.
I've noticed that in all of Metro there's only one spot and it was created by a visiting Cypriot Tourist (Joya Towers, Rockwell). So go wild by listing your favorite spots all around the Philippines. The icons remind me of "Travel Bugs" from Geocaching.

Like I said, I don't have an iPhone, but I really wish I did. I don't work for Gowalla or am related to them in anyway. An acquaintance I know in Hawaii introduced me to this by updating Twitter with places he'd checked into, so that's how I was introduced. If I did have an iPhone, I'd start creating spots all over.

Just thought this was some potential fun for those of you who have iPhones, were/are Geocachers, or were interested in a little off-beat GPS-related fun.

Here are examples of spots you could check into:
-http://gowalla.com/spots/56218 (Only Spot in MM right now)
-http://gowalla.com/spots/24458 (Raffles Hotel Long Bar - SG)
    -http://gowalla.com/spots/23261 (JFK Int'l Airport - NYC)
