is facetime completely free even for overseas calls?

hi guys!

ive only recentyl tried using face time, and, just for the record.. is facetime COMPLETELY FREE ? even if i call someone whos in another country ?

just to make sure i dont get billed for talking to someone in korea for hours

facetime uses wifi to connect, so the answer is a big YES it's free to call even abroad.

How this works?

Let say you have devices with IOS devices that includes Mac computers because of LION you can call them as long the two parties online through WIFI through the use of FT apps which is already free with LION already when you upgrade right?

FWIW, for as long as you have Internet access over WiFi, Facetime is free no matter what or where the two devices may be.

It is free. We always use it when we would like to talk to our relatives abroad. Another plus is its faster video/audio transmission compared with Yahoo video call. Almost no "hickups" even with just a 384Kbps DSL plan.
