Well, it depends. If you have a whole lot of contacts, searching for the single one to call sometimes becomes a hassle, not to mention having to scroll through the address book. Most of these app include a T9 search capability that allows you to search for a contact using a keypad rather than the full QWERTY keyboard. It makes searching for a contact quick and easy.
