apple releases snow leopard graphics update

Apple has publicly released the Snow Leopard Graphics Update that was seeded to developers earlier this month. The Snow Leopard Graphics Update contains stability and performance fixes for graphics applications and games, including addressing the following issues:

- Addresses frame rate issues occurring in Portal and Team Fortress 2 by Valve, on iMac (Late 2009 and Mid 2010), Mac mini (Early 2009 and Mid 2010), Mac Pro (Early 2009), MacBook (Early 2009 and Mid 2010) and MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) or MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) models.
- Resolves an issue that could cause Aperture 3, or StarCraft II by Blizzard, to unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive.
- Resolves an image corruption issue that may occur when disconnecting and reconnecting external displays while the system is running.

The software appears to correct Snow Leopard performance issues brought to light by Valve.

i wonder why the havent addressed the problem with late 2008 macbook pros flickering screen? its been documented for almost 2 years already and its known to be linked to the nvidia 9400. it seems they are working for a fix for all the recent models and left the first gen unibodys in the air.

weird, my other mac (aluminum unibody macbook late 2008) has an update on graphics

should i updates my graphics?

installed the updates, so far no problems encountered.

i just installed the update. everything is ok so far. my 15 inch is a unibody with the 2 graphics cards. i only experience the flickering on the 9400. i really hope this update fixes it.

my macbook unibody is the first unibody with the backlit keyboard. im not sure if thats the same one as yours.

ya thats right. i completely forgot the models that followed were macbook pros. sweet! i never experienced any problems with the 13 inch unibody. its a bit over a year old and still running like a bull.

oh yeah i never experienced screen flickering on the unibody.


just an update. my screen just flickered on the 9400 graphics card after the update. i guess the issue was not addressed for the late 2008 models. boooooo!
