Someone has beaten the iPod to having a built-in wi-fi capability. :(

CNet has reviewed the "world's first wi-fi MP3 player" here (http://reviews.cnet.com/SoniqCast_Element_Aireo_15GB/4505-6490_7-30790880.html?tag=cnetfd.sd).

Based on the initial review (they had a pre-production unit), the Aireo has good wi-fi implementation which it uses to sync with a host PC. It even has a "HotSpotz" feature that acts as a wi-fi detector! I wish our iPods have the same capabilities...

Between a $300, 1.5GB, WiFi mp3 player that looks like a garage door opener and a WiFi-less 15GB iPod for same price, it's still a no-brainer. iDol si iPod!

WiFi still tethers you to a hotspot. Being able to detect WiFi does not necessarily mean you can use it. And syncing with a pc through WiFi sounds like good way to drain batteries--something that Apple needs to address first.

"iPod killers"--they come and go. :)

Well the review didn't seem to favorable either. :D
