Actually, it doesn't bother me that much, but I figured it might annoy me sometime. Does anyone experience this? iTunes opens by itslef, but doesn't open on a regular interval. It's like there are days that the problem is fine and there are some that it just acts up. I find it weird, really. It just opens byh itself and does nothing. i regularly scan my ibook with NAV and do disk repairs, but it just happened again despite these. Any thoughts? :wound:

iTunes is usually set to auto-launch when a) an iPod is connected, or b) an Audio or MP3 CD is inserted. Have you tried creating a new account to observe if iTunes displays the same "auto-launching" behavior?

You're sure you haven't got an iPod plugged in or a CD?

I have a similar problem. But it's a little different. No plugged iPods, no MP3 alert. When I quit iTunes, it starts-up immediately. I have to quit it again in order for it to really quit.

Hi caloysam and bagwis -- try quitting iTunes, then go to the Library > Preferences folder in your Home folder, and delete the preferences file com.apple.itunes.plist. Now relaunch iTunes to create a fresh preferences file. Now observe if the problem persists or goes away.
