Have you tried restarting your iPod (turning it completely off, then on again)?

yap i've restarted my iPod touch several times, more often than not, because the Apps are crashing :D i've even restored it. Still no luck.

for #1, it seems that the iPod DB is delayed or something. clueless.

In my case, when I listen to podcasts and I have to restart my touch (for some reason or another) BEFORE I have a chance to sync to iTunes, it loses all the play count for the podcasts I've listened to in that session the next time I sync. That's the reason I asked if you had to restart before you had a chance to sync to iTunes. It seems that when you restart the touch, you might lose any play count info for that session.

Try to listen to a few songs then sync immediately after that, see if it's reflected in iTunes.

there was something weird that happened to my iPod touch today. when i used one of the apps, my itouch hanged. normally when that happens, i usually turn it off (slide off) then it's back to normal again. but that didn't work today. my iPod touch hanged for almost 3 hours and eventually the battery got drained. i have already updated my itouch to 2.0 few weeks ago but i haven't encountered this problem before. is this normal?

you can try resetting your phone if it hangs, and you don't have to wait for three hours. try hitting the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time and hold it for around 10 or so seconds. It'll restart. hopefully by then whatever hung wouldn't hang anymore when you restart

Hi Guys,

Have some couple of issues with my iPod touch and i hope someone out there can help me =)

1. It seems that my iPod touch is not updating its metadata properly or none at all. I played a lot of tracks today and when I plugged in my iPod to my mac and sorted the Last Played, it showed August 1. I played a whole RATM album on August 4 of morning. The Play Count is not updated as well

2. Some of my tracks does not display its Album Artwork on the iPod touch even though when I added one and it can be viewed on my Mac

My iPod Touch is not jailbreaked, and is running on firmware v2.0. It is already 4 months old, but i'm not sure if it happened before, for this is the first time that i gave it an attention :)

1. may i ask if you're using the latest itunes version? i don't know if metadata concerns have anything to do with itunes versions but i just wanna know your itunes version.

2. hmm, try clearing the album art and putting it back again. then sync again. it's happened to me before and that's what i did (it was a small glitch i experienced once in my lifetime) :)

damn, my ipod touch was in the middle of updating apps... when all of a sudden i see it frozen on the black scren with the silvery white apple logo....

i've treid reseting it by holding down sleep and home for 10 secnds, it does blink but then goes back to that apple logo screen...

i tried connecting it to my mbpro and when it opens itunes, itunes hangs! ipod stays the same at that logo screen

but when i yank out the usb, itunes goes back to normal... ipod stays the same at that logo screen...

what gives?

do i have to drain the ipod touch?

I also had problems viewing album art on the Ipod touch and what I did was to synch the Ipod without the songs or deleting all the songs by unchecking the synching of songs. Afterwards, when my Ipod is empty of songs, I synched it again now with all songs included and voila, all the album art appears.

Had the exact same problem. I was synching applications when it suddenly stopped. I tried resetting by holding down sleep button & home and the white apple logo just appeared. After a few minutes, my wallpaper was up but the slide (to unlock) doesn't want to work. There is the white, small round icon though (which cyles) at the center of the screen which usually appears while synching.

Should I just drain it? Please help!:redface:

my uncle's ipod touch 2nd gen has this problem:

it keeps on playing the songs in the loud speaker even though an earphone is already connected on it though I already tried restarting the ipod but still no relief.

I tried the apple earphone that came with the purchase, also tried it with my x-mini and my senn cx500, unfortunately, none of them worked.

I would bring this back to apple service center once i get back there in manila.

recently i noticed that the home button of my first gen is somewhat hard to press, that is, when pressing it sometimes (most of the time) it will not react. i had to press it very hard.

this is specially annoying when my ipod is locked and would like to go to the music 'mini' menu :) by pressing home button twice :(

anybody experience this? my ipod is 10 months old...

where can i bring it for check up? it is still under warranty anyway.

ipod touch 2g firmware version 2.1.1.
minsan habang nakikinig ako ng music, bigla tumugil yung sound pero naka-play pa rin sa ipod. inulit ko ung song pero tumigil pa rin yung sound sa kalagtinaan. so nagplay ako ng ibang song ganun pa rin nangyari. ang ginawa nireset ko yung ipod. tapos ok na ulit..pero minsan tumitigil pa rin ulit ung music.
ano kaya problema?

hey can anybody here help me? yesterday i connected my ipod touch 2G to another PC which had itunes. however, i wasn't able to see my audio and video files. my ipod was detected though. I ignored it, so I tried to drag and drop new songs then poof! When i checked my ipod, all the songs and videos vanished! just the 2 songs i copied were there. When I checked the summary tab, i saw that the space used DID NOT CHANGE. Originally, I already used up 7 GB of memory space (audio and video) out of 16GB. Since the audio and video files were gone, i noticed that the 7GB has been transferred to the "other" portion (the one in orange). If all the audio/video files were erased, then the free space should change right? I'm a newbie. I have no idea what's going on. Hope somebody here enlightens me or at least give me solutions (if any) to this glitch. :redface: thanks.

help here..
i just purchased my 2g 16g ipodtouch at VM Digital Walker this afternoon..at home everything went well.I've installed my downloaded free apps then excitedly checking the apps while waiting for the bAttery to drain initially..alas, while browsing, my monitor started to blink then turned off. So i plugged it to my macbook to charge, but it would charged T_T huhuhu and it doesnt open anymore...
anybody help???

i went to the store this morning and..after about 3 1/2 hours of waiting, they've figured out that my ipod has a problem. whew, they've replaced it with a new unit.Thanks God!!!

i have question lang regarding sa apps. and games on my ipod touch 2g,
bakit kaya pag inoopen ko yung ibang mga apps ko and games nag oopen naman
kaya lang nagcoclose din agad di tumutuloy mag open bumabalik agad sa main screen?
yung isang games naman nag open and i'm already playing it tapos bigla din syang nag quit....
sa apps ko ba yung prob. or sa ipod na po mismo.thanks!

after installing some apps you need to reboot/powercycle your ipod.
turn it off wait for a few seconds or so, turn it on then try it, Some paid apps advise to do that for the app to work smoothly.

try downloading another app from the app store to your ipod touch directly. Do not use itunes on your mac/pc. just download straight to your touch using the usual account u use when downloading games.. then try opening the other games again..

just a suggestion.. let us know how it turns out..

it happened to me as well. if your ipod is still under warranty, you can have it replaced with a new one because there is no solution to that problem. i went to power mac center in megamall and they said there is no fix for that problem. they told me to call up Apple and ask for a reconsideration on getting my ipod replaced because my warranty was 4 months expired already. so i did call Apple and they gave me the good news that i can have my ipod replaced for free. so i went to microwarehouse in kapitolyo since it's nearer to home and they told me that it'd take 3-5 days for the replacement model to arrive from apple singapore. just 2 days after i handed in my old ipod, they gave me a call that my new ipod was ready. :)

^ Maybe it was overcharged? Don't know if that's possible though. Try bringing it to Digital Walker. They're authorized Apple resellers. They can fix that for you. :)

Need help. I have an iPod touch 2nd gen. Cant seem to see the wallpaper that I've set from the settings? Why is that? Tried setting it with wallpapers that comes with the iPod and also from the photo library. Also tried turning the unit on and off several times. It comes on for a split second then disappears.
please help.

Try updating your firmware in iTunes. Sometimes issues like these get fixed with a new firmware release.

Hi, do your ipod touch hung sometimes? Just happened with my ipod touch recently. When I slide to unlock it, it stuck in the farther side of unlock bar. Happened also when I unlock it and use the calculator, I can not press anything and the figure zero (0) won't appear after some time. What should I do with this? Thanks.

Question guys...

i have the latest iPod Touch. Had transferred some mp4 format movies on iTunes. It plays on my iTunes but does not load on my iPod. Different format daw. But I have a few movies of the same mp4 format on my iPod Touch na that plays. How come?

Please help.

It depends on the exact formatting. Not all MP4s will play. You need to have a certain bit rate, resolution, etc. Try using Handbrake to reencode it using the iPhone preset first.

yeah i agree... i use either handbrake or isquint when converting mp4's for iphone format... always works like a charm

i'm having a few problems with my new ipod touch 3G (w/c I never experienced with my older ipod touch 2G):

1) one of my smart playlists isnt showing up. but when it's hooked up to itunes, it's there. already deleted the smart playlist; then put one up again, same problem.
2) when the ipod is hooked up to my car audio setup; the connection's been buggy. I tried 2 other ipods with the same setup, no problems whatsoever. I used another car, same problem.

any ideas? thanks

my friend just recently got a 3rd gen ipod touch. i converted and transferred some videos for her in mp4 format. the problem is when she tried playing it only the sound comes out but the video is frozen to the first frame and after about a minute or so it would jump to another frame somewhere in the middle of the video. i transferred the same videos to my 2g iphone and 5th gen ipod and it worked perfectly. is this some bug or is the unit defective? :slanted:

It might be a syncing issue. Try to sync the video again to the iPod touch and see if you still encounter the same issue.

I recently bought a new MBP. I used migration assistant to transfer files, apps, etc from my old macbook black to the new MBP.

Long story short, my ipod touch 3rd gen (iOS4) can't be detected by the new MBP (even though i migrated everything). However, it still is detected by the old one. Any insights?

I already tried turning the ipod touch off and on. I also tried rebooting the MBP. System Profiler detects that there is an ipod connected to it, but iTunes 9.2 can't! :(

Make sure you have iTunes 10.2.1. You will need that to restore to iOS 4.3. You cannot restore to an older iOS.

upgraded my ipod touch 4G to iOS4 and then i noticed that on the screen when i use it now, there are lines!

i have not dropped it so i was wondering what happened? has this happened to anyone?

the lines are intermittent and they disappear when you start touching the screen...
Same problem here and you're not alone.. Actually issues were been mentioned already in the iOS 4.3 thread.

I am not sure if the iOS4.2.1 restoration window is closed. But you can try restoring to a 4.2.1 ipsw by pressing Option and clicking Restore. Then choose your ipsw file.

By default iTunes deletes older ipsw when a new one ia downloaded.

just hit the sync button;)

to check if you're already backed up thru itunes, itunes>preferences>devices:)

all data will be backed up except music and videos
