I came along this article (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/iphone-3g-carriers-apple-vary-on-visual-voicemail/) on iLounge through the MacCast. Not sure if Globe will support this function. I hope they do. Visual voicemail was one of the coolest feature on the iphone. Any reps from Globe to comment or any info if this information if its true ?

Well I do hope so. Let's keep our fingers crossed this time.

i'm guessing no.
in the USA, when they miss a call, they heavily rely on voicemail.
here, if the person you're trying to call can't or won't pick up, you'll text him/her, di ba?

It doesn't make sense for Globe to put up infrastructure for this. I think it doesn't fit with the Filipino's cellphone habits. You're right about it. We would rather text than speak into a machine.

Yes, and they just removed the regular voicemail this year, why do you think visual voicemail will get thru? I'm not fond of speaking to the machine too, when I call uMobile, there's one feature that you can leave a message to the operator, I don't like it. Weird feeling I guess.
I think they should make another feature called MISSED Call Text, so when a guy using an iPhone calls another iPhone and the party failed to answer, the screen would shift into text messaging, and when the party opens up his missed call, BOOM! there's a message attached to it. PATENT Pending** (joke!)

globe used to have this feature! whenever i missed a call (if my phone was off -- in a movie or show), i'd get a few notifications that so and so tried to call me.
also once i cancel an incoming call, a text message would arrive informing me so and so tried to call me.
sayang yun! i really liked that feature.

This is innovation guys. I think I'd rather be speaking on a machine than be the old "jologs" style kid around the block. We're left out on technology and for some reason I think we should all know how to cope up when it comes to change. Remember what they say about change guys, it's the only constant thing in this world. This may not be a necessity but it could be of great help. Ordinary voicemail is limited. It would be better to have more options than having only one or nothing at all. The more, the merrier, right?

Yup, you're right. Mahal kasi tumawag kaya text na lang ^_^. Pero I think its much more easier, esp for business people or for other things you want to say, which may be difficult to fit in a 160 character SMS message. One more plus is that voicemail is much more personal than SMS.

i think dapat nilang i-implement ung feature lalo na pag patay ung phone mo... minsan ung mga text sau habang patay ung phone mo ndi mo na maretrieve... or ndi na talaga marerecieve atleast pag naka voicemail sure ka na marereceive mo... and isa pa the feature make iphone unique if not the only one to have visual voice mail... sayang ung feature... nagiging isa tuloy un sa reason qng bakit ndi ganoon ka-useful ang iphone sa pinas....
