i had my mind set on buying the new v-moda in ear for my iphone

but then i saw the 5-star review on the Bose in-ear

what do you think would be the better buy?

the sound quality of Bose or the iphone compatibility of v-moda?

yes. they have re-developed their jacks to fit in an iphone. you will notice mas mahaba sya kaysa sa ordinary. I'm a proud owner of Bose in-ear and quiet comfort3 headphone.

Yep. But I insist to fit it in your ear kapag nabisita ka sa Bose outlets. Just give it a try kahit hindi ka bibili. Mapapamura ka at sasabihin mong.. "pwede ba isangla ko muna tv namin ngayon"? Hahaha! You'll definitely know man what I mean when you try it.;)

Yes it can. I'm using it right now. :) The jack is designed in such a way that it can fit the iPhone easily.

From the product website (http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_STATIC_PAGE_EVENT&url=/home_entertainment/headphones_headsets/headphones/triport_ie/features.jsp#tabs):

Extensive compatibility
Angled plug fits directly into most MP3 players, including iPodŽ and iPhone™ models, as well as laptops and portable CD and DVD players

I have both. I prefer to use v-moda when Im expecting a lot of calls.

But for purely music satisfaction. BOSE is your answer.

I read a lot of bad reviews about the V-Moda on the Apple website. It seems that the unit only lasts a few months and would cause static OR either the left or right would stop functioning.

Is this true? I hope they improved the new batches. I've already seen a number of V-Modas in the DIGITAL Hub branches.

I myself bought an iPhone headset from a local ebay seller. It is China made (black), has in-ear headphones and with mic capabilities. Better than the original headset, but I doubt if the same output quality as V-Moda or Bose.

I of course prefer the headset with mic capabilities.

I guess this is true, When I got my 1st vibe duos for the iphone, it only lasted around a month, then i lost the left channel. Asked my friend to have it changed since it was still under waranty.

Luckily, she was able to have it changed. Im not using it as much as I used to before. Afraid of losing another channel again.

My Bose sees a lot of actions these Days. hehehe

But Im also planning to get me a Full Metal Jacket from Skullcandy. You might want to check those out. They're much cheaper compared to both brands but packs a punch..

Bose really produces those deep bass like no other. KOSS brands can be a good alternative.

Since you'll be using the earphones with the iPhone, I suggest the Vibe Duo. At the end of the day, that mic will make the difference. The Vibes are excellent in-ears on their own.

Personally, I prefer the Vibe's sound over Bose or JBL,for that matter. I did a comparative a couple of weeks ago and I ended up getting a pair of Vibes in red (not the duo though, since these were for my nano when I run).

I had a previous pair of gold Vibe which broke at the jack area. Despite that, I bought V-Moda again. I hope this new pair lasts me a bit longer because they aint cheap.

Here's a small review from someone in iLounge: http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=218771
Here's an in depth: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/2006/12/vmoda-vibe-review.php

If you look at the reviews at CNet, the Vmoda gets higher marks than the Bose from both editors and users:
V-moda: http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/v-moda-vibe-gunmetal/4505-7877_7-32161239.html

Bose: http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/bose-triport-in-ear/4505-7877_7-32150146.html?tag=also

Thanks sir Elbert. Very useful links.

The mic does make a LOT of difference in deciding on a headsets. Well, it is also a phone and not just an iPod. So, the Bose would not be a good choice.

The only thing keeping me from getting those vibe-duos on Digital Hub (as of now it only comes in silver) is the durability. As you said, it aint cheap so it would be fair to expect that it will at least last the full warranty period (with normal use) before it breaks.

I liken the comparison to buying different brands of LCD TV's. On their own, each will hold up well and will be impressive, but when put side-by-side in a showroom, there'll be some noticeable differences. In the end though, whatever you decide on will please you.

Grab whatever Bose, I've owned a V-MODA Remix and a Vibe Duo, mediocre quality. I believe the objective of V-MODA is fashionable gear with decent quality; no doubt they deliver. Since you're out to spend a lot of money on earphones anyway by debating between the two, go with Bose, uncompromised quality.

I have the Bose in ear, and love the warm sound. It can be a bit too bass-y, but I tweak that with the iPod's equalizer. The half black, half white cord is driving me slightly crazy. it sort of twirls and gives you that barber's pole effect (or candy cane) effect. I don't know how to undo that.

i have the v-moda vibe duo and the Bose QC3 and the sound is very very different. The vmoda is good dont get me wrong, but compared to bose its still far. Vmoda has great bass and good high freq but once you plug the QC3, you will want to listen to all your songs again

The only thing the vmoda has an edge over qc3 is it can fit the iphone w/o an adapter.

I have both on sale btw hahaha

I use Bose in-ear headphones, and as expeceted, bass sounds fantastic. You also don't have to worry about losing the silicone tips since you can get them for free in Bose outlets.

I've been using the Bose Triport In-ears and they're great. However, I'm looking for something whichhas a mic and a remote for the music. My main concern is I want to use the remote for my 1st gen iPod touch. I saw the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 4vi and the reviews look good.

Has anyone here used it and can give me their reviews?

does bose store sells extra silicon tips? how much?

johannes

^ @ melo: Are you referring to the Bose Triport In-Ears? If yes, you don't have to buy them. According to the store (PowerPlant branch), just present your receipt to any Bose store and you can get the silicon tips for free.

Bose has stores in Glorietta 3 and Power Plant Mall. There's a new one opening at Greenbelt 5 (near Digital Walker Zoom).

Some Apple resellers also sell Bose earphones.

If you're going for the Bose Triport In-Ears, keep the receipt. You'll need to present it should you need to avail of the free silicone earbuds replacements.

If bulk is not an issue, i'd suggest the on-ear headphones. Bose megamall has a setup where you can also experience those noise-cancelling headphones. :)

ambisalao
03-10-2009, 05:01 PM
Bose also has a store in The Block, SM North Edsa.

I was never asked about my receipt when I availed my free silicone buds. I just showed them my Bose earphones and they made me sign something before giving me the silicons. But the large size buds that they give away only fit the older Triport In-earphones that have the plain black chord. Mine has the black / white chord so I can't seem to use the ones that I got.

quiet comfort 3 is like the superior-est, but is quite as expensive as your iPhone, haha, but i would suggest bose, just like what the phil said, quality over compatibility

what's your sole purpose by the ways? for calling or for listening?
