Spam qt_arvin 12-24-2007, 02:51 PM I used Handbrake to convert DVD to Mpeg4 and transfer it to my iPhone thru iTunes....i think this is much easier. rbacosta 12-24-2007, 03:03 PM Handbreak and Visualhub for me. :) aragorn_109 12-24-2007, 03:16 PM Handbreak for me too. It even retains the DVD chapters. joeorbe 12-24-2007, 04:23 PM Definitely Handbrake for me also. quietcynic 12-24-2007, 04:35 PM Can we ban this guy yet? He's clearly a spammer (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=%22I+was+able+to+convert+dvd/video+to+iPhone+using+the+Cucusoft+iPhone+Video+Co nverter+suite+software%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8). davidkeso 12-24-2007, 09:11 PM where can i get handbrake ? aragorn_109 12-24-2007, 10:47 PM where can i get handbrake ? http://handbrake.m0k.org/ respiritu 12-28-2007, 03:21 AM Total Video Converter did the trick for me :) and its free :p JMV 01-04-2008, 11:34 PM I tried installing the the "Handbrake" installer program. "Handbrake-win-2.41.EXE" Once clicked.. an error pops up ... ".NET runtime library not installed" What seems to be the problem? I'm running on Windows XP and I downloaded the "Windows GUI" version i think you have to install .NET framework:rolleyes: hth JMV 01-05-2008, 12:00 AM Oh I see... thanks for the quick reply. Downloading .NET Frameworks 2.0 now. ..will let you know if this fixes the problem. Thanks again. JMV 01-05-2008, 12:15 AM Finsihed installing the handbrake program... NET Frameworks library kulang. Dont really know what NET Frameworks does, anyway, I'll just find out by myself. Thanks zerocol for your support. thelostsheep 01-05-2008, 12:27 AM @JMV, since you mentioned you're on Windows XP, you may want to try this. http://www.hackthatphone.com/112/iphone_rip_dvd_windows.html this might be simpler but it's a two program process. i hope this helps. JMV 01-05-2008, 09:16 PM I'm currently converting a DVD into MP4 format using handbrake. As the the status of progress, I would estimate the whole DVD (Spiderman 1) would be converted in 5 hours. Is this normal? Heck, this is too long! Miguel_D 01-05-2008, 11:03 PM handbreak and visualhub rocks thelostsheep 01-05-2008, 11:40 PM I'm currently converting a DVD into MP4 format using handbrake. As the the status of progress, I would estimate the whole DVD (Spiderman 1) would be converted in 5 hours. Is this normal? Heck, this is too long! that is quite long. you may want to try the link i sent earlier, it might be shorter. i used the programs found in that site and i now have 10 GB worth of movies in my itunes. too bad the iphone only has 8GB. hehe. checkyoulater 01-22-2008, 01:37 AM so handbrake solves my DVD conversion issue but what do you guys use for converting your downloaded media files (i.e. other video file formats) to iphone ready clips? ...as a side note...isn't it funny that most (if not all) original DVDs are copyright protected, thus we are forced into using pirated DVDs to be able to convert them into viable video formats for our iphones/ipods? :) doblezeta 01-22-2008, 01:52 AM I use Elgato's Turbo H.264. Its a combo hardware/software solution so it converts videos to iPhone format really really fast. :) checkyoulater 01-22-2008, 02:27 AM hmmm...sounds like a very promising suggestion...lemme go google it :) thnks machazel 01-22-2008, 05:35 AM i use visual hub to convert videos for my ipod touch. but if you want freeware, you might want to try squint. alhuang1 01-22-2008, 07:08 AM For full feature movies i.e. one movie in one dvd, I have no problems using handbrake but if I want to convert tv series where one dvd has multiple shows, I can't seem to do that on handbrake. Any suggestions? Tried iSquint also and it doesn't work either. jerichojanolo 01-22-2008, 09:24 AM @alhuang1 I use Handbrake for transferring TV series to my iPod. What I do is I choose a chapter first before I start converting. Then I go to the next til I'm finished with all the episodes. HTH. w0o0zy 01-22-2008, 12:15 PM Handbrake and iSquint/VisualHub for me have a question...don't know if this is considered OT tho :) how do i convert a movie with subtitles to mp4...for example an .avi with .srt or .sub? thanks :) imabs 08-25-2009, 03:02 PM conversion. what i do after i am done converting DVD videos via Visual Hub into a let's say a 1080i HD video uncompressed format, i open it with Quicktime Pro, and export it for iPod and iPhone 3G, and i choose H264 compression with a file extension of .m4v which i use and up load the final m4v video to youtube or iPhone. it's so clear compared to a 320x480 something format. mysterio 08-25-2009, 04:06 PM Handbrake and iSquint/VisualHub for me have a question...don't know if this is considered OT tho :) how do i convert a movie with subtitles to mp4...for example an .avi with .srt or .sub? thanks :) Total Video Converter does it for me when encoding subs into a video. It also has custom presets for iPhone so you don't have to fiddle much with the settings. scoflip 08-25-2009, 11:35 PM Videora video converter ;) lorodz 08-26-2009, 06:33 AM I use Super Video Converter (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html), it accepts any format and converts easily to my iphone 3gs rjsant5 08-26-2009, 10:32 AM I still use handbrake for converting my videos. I'll also try videora. :) spongebob24 08-26-2009, 11:52 AM I'm using toast titanium nethrow 08-29-2009, 07:58 PM I use SUPER too. It's the fastest free converter out there: 6mins to convert a 180mb AVI file to mp4. shaft 09-19-2009, 12:23 AM Okay isquint is gone. So are Visual Hub and Handbrake isnt working w/Snowy. Ive been looking all over for a good ala isquint super simple video converter. Xillisoft Video Converter somehow isnt working w SL - whenever i convert avi to mp4 (any for that matter actually), i get a fail result. Tried Super but apparently its just for Windows. ronymd 09-19-2009, 11:53 PM what version of visual hub is not compatible with snow leop? was planning to have a fresh install of SL pa naman.... in that case I may have to delay the upgrade... visual hubs the best and fastest pa naman.....hmm dapengfei 12-09-2009, 04:26 PM I'd like to use Pavtube DVD to iPhone Converter (http://www.pavtube.com/dvd_to_iphone/) kenok 12-09-2009, 04:38 PM Handbrake released a new version recently with proper support for SL and some optimizations. They took out avi/ffmpeg features tho. pilyocoe08 12-09-2009, 08:09 PM I'm also using Videora video converter... :D |
