I'm not really quite sure what your implying about it looking like a windows machine? The only difference between this iPhone and the standard iPhones are the Non square icons. *sarcasm on* I didn't realize by me sticking with the standard square icons was somehow more of a Mac-like experience but you're right, to each his own. I've heard the new release of Leopard will yield all square icons for all applications. I can't wait. * sarcasm off*

Nice colors. I'm with you in that i change my desktop all around and on some days prefer a more minimalistic look. That's the cool thing about the iphone is that you can pretty much change the interface and icons all around because they're only made up of png files. It actually has a windows version. Its a .pxl file you can install on your phone using iBrickr. Load it on your phone and boom! you're good to go mate :). Want to know more? ask ed :p

To be able to change icons easily but with limited choice, you can install summerboard along with some themes made for it or to modify other graphics such as the calculator, dialer keypad, battery charger etc... the easiest way is to sftp into your iPhone via fugu or cyberduck and replace the old png file with the new graphic. New graphics are available here (http://www.modmyiphone.com/cmps_index.php), here, (http://www.everythingiphone.com/forum/)and here (http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewforum.php?id=21).

This is off topic but Season 2 of Heroes airs today in the US (Sept. 24 there). It'll probably take a few days when a torrent would be made available.;) . Prison Break Season 3 started a week earlier (There are copies already posted of that episode).

I used cyberduck to peek at the Theme directory of Summerboard. From there, you can clearly see how themes are made up and can create, then upload your own.

yep, because i used the touch dock which is fixed with those reflections. but i changed it now to the theme dock of Prado. thanks for asking :)

If you have Summerboard installed, Prado is actually listed as one of the themes on Installer.

there's an application called "dock" available via installer which has a screenshot application built in or download "erica's utilities also available thru installer and you ssh into your iPhone via terminal or putty with the snap2album command and it puts it in your photos folder.

Those screenshots are awesome! If I see more I might want to get one now :-s

if you have Summerboard installed, it will magically modify your iPhone's springboard so you can scroll through the many 3rd party apps you have in your phone. i am not aware of any limit in summerboard right now because so far, all of my installed apps show up except, of course, the ones i chose to hide using rSBT.

I tried out the other cool themes on Summerboard but found that it destroyed the overall Apple look for me since I just got the phone a couple of weeks ago.

In any case, I set it up using rSBT and Dock to achieve the following:

1. I have a lot of other apps installed on the phone like Installer, rSBT, Summerboard, and stuff like that but I keep it hidden and use Dock to reveal the apps when I need to launch them. I also hid some stock apps like Maps, Stocks, and a few others as I dont use them at all. Keeps the look of the phone cleaner for me showing only the apps that I would use the most.

2. I moved the Text app to the dock since I use it much more than Mail. I do use Mail as well to check my office email but the lack of deletions sync is a pain. I rely on my BlackBerry for most email and PIM work. The fact that Mail does not recognize meeting requests and sends them in as regular email is a hassle. When configured using the Exchange tab on Mail, the meeting requests would not even come in at all!

3. I moved Mail, Calendar, and Calculator to the bottom row which is more easily accessible for my thumb. In the stock setup, SMS and Calendar was too far away to reach and adjusting the iPhone in my hand to reach the icon made me worried that the phone would slip and fall.

4. Generally, I set it up that multimedia stuff is in the top row, info and note stuff is in the middle row, and productivity apps towards the bottom.

5. Not shown but I changed the charging indicator to the one available on Customize with the percentage indicator. I was using the Duracell one for a while but got tired of it.

I do change themes every few days when I get bored, switching as well between the Apple Image Pack available online or just the black background depending on mood. Generally, though, I still use the customized builds of the Apple desktop OS counterparts.

I don't think so as it's built into the dock application itself and even if you were to have an icon on the home screen, you'd be stuck with only taking screenshots of the home screen.

You can basically use any image out there and size it to the original weather backgrounds located in the weather.apps directory. You have to add your own masks for the text to stand out but it's not so difficult.

google for manzana. then install this in your pc.

then copy paste the retrophone dialer to this directory in the iphone thru manzana /Applications/MobilePhone.app/

or u could always use ibricker..that is if you're in 1.02

nice backgrounds. if you really want to be anal retentive about it like me, size your images to 288x375, give them rounded corners and put them on a 288x378 black background (that's exactly how the stock backgrounds are sized). then make some alternating masks so that the text and weather icons stand out from your picture. also put in a 320x480 Default.png file in the weather.app that serves as the image when you open up the weather program.:p

You can get the Time Machine theme for the Icon, Phiberglass for the wallpaper and dock I got it from another forum. This is a mixed theme. You can install the theme folder in /var/root/Library/Summerboard/Themes

It's actually in Smbprefs. Turn "Skip Last Row" to on.

Sure. I just combined the components of 2 different thems. Almost all of the icons were from two different Realize icon sets. The dock was taken from the JTRWallace theme. The wallpaper was also from Realize. You can download the theme from here (http://rapidshare.com/files/75627091/Theme.zip.html).

You can use any SFTP client to transfer apps/files from your Mac/PC to your iPhone. For Mac, you can use Fugu or Cyberduck. For PC, you can use WinSCP. Also, you need to have SSH installed on your iPhone. HTH

The battery is from armadillo from modmyifone. All his skins can be accessed by adding these as a source in Installer.

OK, I finally got it to work. I think when I typed "xml", the iPhone was suggesting "XML" (uppercase) and I inadvertently entered uppercase. It shouldn't matter, right? But when I went out of my way to enter all lowercase, I got it working. Weird indeed. But this is a great package!
