View Full Version : The Best Disney / Pixar Movie For You pelican 08-30-2007, 08:55 PM Of the 8 animated feature films released by Disney / Pixar, which is your all time favorite? sabsar 08-30-2007, 08:58 PM Maybe you can list all 8 films. pelican 08-30-2007, 09:00 PM Just updated the thread. All 8 films were included in the poll. elbert 08-30-2007, 09:00 PM So hard to choose! They're all great. I like Cars a great deal, to the point of making it my first ever iTunes store movie purchase. I have to admit I missed Ratatouille and I've heard a lot of great things about it. That'll be my second ITS purchase. sabsar 08-30-2007, 09:03 PM That is quite a list. I have to say 'Finding Nemo' since this was the first film I watched with my daughters. tech.junkie 08-30-2007, 09:04 PM i like them all but the incredibles would be my fave. pelican 08-30-2007, 09:13 PM Although I like all of them, "The Incredibles" is definitely my all time favorite because it's a great movie that anyone can love and appreciate the meaning of family values. bugs 08-30-2007, 09:29 PM hmmm i would say finding nemo :) monster's inc comes in a close second :) con_artist 08-30-2007, 09:31 PM My all time favorite is Finding Nemo, heartwarming and funny. :) Theus 08-30-2007, 09:40 PM My all time favorite is Finding Nemo, heartwarming and funny. :) same thoughts here. i've seen all 8 (we have all the dvd titles, except for ratatouille of course) , but nothing beats Nemo (i think most fathers here will agree :)) . a close 2nd would be cars. cyberprince 08-30-2007, 09:42 PM I also voted for Finding Nemo. But it is indeed hard to choose they were all great. Ratatouille comes in a close second, I really, really enjoyed it! And Elbert's post also reminds me how much I loved Cars. Those three films are the best of the bunch I think. bongkers 08-30-2007, 09:51 PM finding nemo at cars are the best animated movie for me........ kalirayacs 08-30-2007, 10:09 PM CARS!!!!! i love it i even collecct it :D elbert 08-30-2007, 10:25 PM sana may option for all-of-the-above. I haven't cast a vote because I really can't choose. tech.junkie 08-30-2007, 10:48 PM sana may option for all-of-the-above. I haven't cast a vote because I really can't choose. if there is, i think it would be the most voted option. ;) ruger 08-30-2007, 11:08 PM Definitely The Incredibles for me Bulakbol 08-30-2007, 11:46 PM My vote goes to The Incredibles. I can watch this film a thousand times over and I will still find it funny each time hehe. jps444 08-31-2007, 12:17 AM toy story because it started them all :) macky2green 08-31-2007, 02:37 AM Some of the movies, I've seen, and some, not yet. I loved the Monsters, Inc. I don't know why, I just did. Finding Nemo is also nice, and it shows how a parent loves his/her child/children, through these cartoon characters. But my favorite of all is indeed, The Incredibles! Yeah! This is a very cool (as in cool!) movie! A family of superheroes with different powers, and cool villains, too. And its not just a cartoon to entertain the audience (specifically the young ones), but this, too, shows family values which I find very valuable in modern time films. In fact, I'm so amazed with the storyline (as well as its graphics, etc.), I repeated this movie several times over. I rate this 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! ;) shrubber 08-31-2007, 02:51 AM Monsters Inc for me. :) It just felt right. Great story, Great premise, wasn't too long, Heartwarming without being cheesy, great voice talents and possibly has one of the best endings ever. mayness 08-31-2007, 02:57 AM wah! that's a tough question.... i wasn't able to watch cars and Ratatouille... i did vote for nemo.. next for me is monsters, Inc.... i based it on the most number of times that i watched it... hehehe... ministop 08-31-2007, 03:38 AM for me finding nemo. The animation is so good. they were able to animate the underwater scene lifelike/soft and with a good feel of being submerged -galing. And i just looove Dory the blue fish (VO by ellen degeneres) Humor and story is great. soloworx 08-31-2007, 05:43 AM same thoughts here. i've seen all 8 (we have all the dvd titles, except for ratatouille of course) , but nothing beats Nemo (i think most fathers here will agree :)) . a close 2nd would be cars. Ha ha, Nemo and fathers, that's true. But I like the father in Mr. Incredibles better! And thus I voted for that movie - loved that final scene when the youngest child turned into a monster! Speaking of Pixar, how about ranking the shorts as well? I vote for The Jack-Jack Attack. hitme64 08-31-2007, 06:20 AM nemo is incredible...hmmm, wait, did i just cite two films in one sentence? hehe for shorts, i like that of the birds on a telephone line...searingly funny! soloworx 08-31-2007, 06:38 AM Hi hitme64, looks like we're the only early risers here! gaol 08-31-2007, 07:04 AM It's so hard to choose. Depends on what the disney/pixar movie of the week is screening (again and again) at home. My top choices would be Cars, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., currently in that order. hehe Rata is also a favorite too. But Bugs Life would probably be consistently at the bottom of the list for me. I like it but not as much as the others pelican 08-31-2007, 08:00 AM For Pixar Short Films followers, you might want to add to your collection - upcoming Blu-ray and DVD releases in November: Pixar Short Films Collection - Volume 1 (http://www.amazon.com/Pixar-Short-Films-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B000V1Y446/ref=sr_1_13/102-2086544-1806512?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1188518025&sr=8-13) tech.junkie 08-31-2007, 08:39 AM For Pixar Short Films followers, you might want to add to your collection - upcoming Blu-ray and DVD releases in November: Pixar Short Films Collection - Volume 1 (http://www.amazon.com/Pixar-Short-Films-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B000V1Y446/ref=sr_1_13/102-2086544-1806512?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1188518025&sr=8-13) wow! i didnt know they would release something like that. tnx for the info. :) Sph1nx 08-31-2007, 09:15 AM All of them are great films, but my pick would have to be Finding Nemo. It would've been easier if we can rank those 8 from top to bottom, here would be my list: 1. Finding Nemo 2. The Incredibles 3. Monsters Inc. 4. Ratatouille 5. Toy Story 6. Cars 7. Toy Story 2 8. A Bug's Life It was a close call between Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, but the former wins for me because of the storyline. gracegal 08-31-2007, 09:40 AM My favorite is Finding Nemo because I love the character of Dory (fish w/ a short-term memory loss) because she was so funny. :D Among the list, Finding Nemo is the only one I watched for several times and I never get tired of it. kaffee 08-31-2007, 10:23 AM It's A Bug's Life for me, along with Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. I also missed Ratatouille. Saw Toy Story 1 and I thought that the story, like all those in the list, is heartwarming (missed Toy Story2). Incredibles, I think, is more an animated film for older children and adults. Linus 08-31-2007, 01:13 PM *Sigh* If i ever wanted to go corporate, working at Pixar would be my dream job. All their employees fromt he janitor up are encouraged to talke a film class and make a short film. But that's just a bonus to the fantastic creative environment they have there. Close second would be to become a Disney Imagineer! That said, Monsters Inc. is first among equals for this Pixar fan boy. Although Toy Story just has so much heart and started this whole newfangled computer movie fad thingamagig. reivi400 08-31-2007, 01:28 PM I voted for Toy Story as it was the first-ever Disney Pixar film. It really made me look forward to the succeeding films. Haven't seen Ratatouille. Slightly OT: My favorite full-length Disney animation is Snow White. It's the first Disney movie I ever watched when it was re-released in the late 70's or early 80's. Like Toy Story, it's also the first full-length animation from Disney (if I'm not mistaken). reorx 08-31-2007, 02:14 PM Being the comic-geek that I am, Incredibles has my vote for top of the Pixar heap. Monsters Inc. is my second. Billy Crystal and John Goodman had EXCELLENT rapport and timing together, and Boo IS THE CUTEST!!!!! Marco 08-31-2007, 02:51 PM Hm they are all good, but toy story is that one that i loved when i was a kid. All thoose toys :D Eric 08-31-2007, 03:10 PM Ratatouille for me. The Incredibles would be a close second. I love watching Pixar movies since they are really story-driven. While technically excellent, Pixar uses 3d to support the storyline unlike the CG Hollywood copycats (remember Antz?). I usually find myself overlooking the fact that I'm watching a CG Pixar movie because the storylines are totally engrossing. Mykolant 08-31-2007, 03:16 PM They're all great! I love em all. But I voted for The Incredibles just because I like the animation style of Brad Bird... and Edna Mode really cracked up my whole family! The DVD set includes special deleted scenes and original storyline that didn't make it to the final version. Plus some inside info on the other supers mentioned in the film! Galing! Out of the 8 listed, I haven't seen Cars and Ratatouille! I have a VHS collection of Toy Story 1 & 2 and Bug's Life, can you believe it?! VHS!~!!!! acnugteel 08-31-2007, 04:03 PM I have a VHS collection of Toy Story 1 & 2 and Bug's Life, can you believe it?! VHS!~!!!! Just a quick question out of curiosity. Does VHS collections also comes with special features that we do have now on DVDs? jsg123 08-31-2007, 07:59 PM Yes! It's analog technology! That makes it really special because the only way to watch the movie again is to rewind it ;-) macbeth 08-31-2007, 08:59 PM Ratatouille is BY FAR the best movie in the Pixar canon. To say that it's the best animated feature of our generation is still an understatement. It is a great movie. A new classic (hey that's an oxymoron for you hahaha)... The quality of Ratatouille's animation can be compared without embarrassment to modern paintings or visual art compositions. The texture and the colors of Paris juxtaposed with the vivid outlines of the furs of the rats--combine these with excellent camera movements that follow the world of a rat adjacent to the oh-so-romantic alleys and lights of Paris--these unlikely combinations are beautifully illustrated that the audience is easily enchanted--transported into the lovely world of Remy and Linguini: the little rat chef and the simple young man who just wanted to get by after losing his mother. The plot is solid, mixing a dash of vintage Disney archetypical hero in Remy (who reminds us of other Disney heroes who just think of themselves as different, who want to go out there, somewhere else where they will be more understood and where they are meant for greater things) and the Pixar's archetypal hero in Linguini, whose real heroism is found lingering among his inner values and natural kindness. But more than this, watching Ratatouille feels like reading a favorite bedtime story for people across all ages. What really amazes me the most is the story's utter simplicity which exceptionally utilizes and combines realism and fantasy in the lovely world of Remy and Linguini. The dialogue is extremely witty, the humor is not forced and most of the times delivered with taste. Ratatouille is a topnotch achievement--the chef d'oeuvres amidst a world of hamburgers and fries. Primey 08-31-2007, 11:27 PM I would say that Toy Story is the best for me. Buzz lightyear and woody? C'mon you gotta love 'em. :) tech.junkie 09-01-2007, 05:14 AM hmmm, i hope pixar teams up w/ the makers of the simpsons or vice-versa for the sequel to simpsons the movie to be 3D. now wouldnt that be interesting? :) macxchange 09-01-2007, 05:32 AM I would go for Toy Story 2. I like Buzz. But I like also finding Nemo and Incredibles. krgy 09-01-2007, 10:52 AM Hard to choose! But if forced to, I'd go with The Incredibles. Shredplayer 09-01-2007, 02:39 PM i like Finding Nemo but my kids loves Buzz & Woody... Watchin All Day... To Infinity and Beyond.............. ryan_ilinon 09-08-2007, 10:45 PM Finding Nemo because of Darla marcalbar 09-09-2007, 12:03 AM i like all of them, just like my kids :). buy finding nemo is special because it was the first pixar film small01ville 09-09-2007, 12:16 AM I am a big fan of a bug's life coz the story has a lot of lessons to learn.. but if ur looking for an animation that will make u laugh nonstop, its Monster's Inc. for me..Boo was very funny and very cute in that film. Imagination of Pixar's creators was awesome!!!:D karel319 09-09-2007, 12:31 AM i like Toy Story.. included in the list of 100 best films by the american film institute's 100 years anniversary... micumouse 09-24-2007, 03:06 PM Finding nemo! just keep swimming swimming swimming! tinsey 09-24-2007, 03:15 PM Monsters, Inc. To say that it's the best animated feature of our generation is still an understatement. It is a great movie. A new classic (hey that's an oxymoron for you hahaha)... Ratatouille is a topnotch achievement--the chef d'oeuvres amidst a world of hamburgers and fries. Ditto macbeth. Ratatouille would rise above the rest as a 'filmic' classic, and not just a family oriented ditty. But of course, as any Pixar fan, I love all the films Pixar ever released. It's just that with Ratatouille, production-wise and story-wise, I just thought they've raised the bar so high that it's so tough to top it themselves. pavlos 10-27-2007, 01:31 AM "a bug's life" my first and last disney pixar film pity me... i guess i'm missing a lot of good things. beirutman 10-27-2007, 02:01 AM A BUG'S LIFE The dandilion part of the movie always amazes me... chefmo 10-28-2007, 12:14 AM Ratatouille! Hats off to the geniuses behind the film, including all the macs they used during pre-prod, prod and post-prod work. scorpiocec 11-03-2007, 09:21 PM For me its "The Incredibles". I just love superhero stories. :) RommelReyes 11-04-2007, 06:47 AM Cars - because I'm an automobile entusiast and the soundtrack was fantastic! Mocha.Frap 12-12-2007, 08:36 PM For me, it would be Ratatouille :D I really liked the story and the animation =) jika 12-23-2007, 08:17 AM finding nemo and monster inc. my 6 year old bro can go with the dialogues and still llaughs at every funny scene though he watched for the nth time... booh! :D jazz17 01-11-2008, 08:27 PM wow, this is really hard. i love them all! my students and i never get tired of watching them whenever we have a film showing. i find Monster's Inc. really funny and Ratatouille really inspiring. dralnux 01-11-2008, 08:29 PM finding nemo pa din. iya 01-11-2008, 11:22 PM Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Cars are my picks. Impossible to choose just one. Evan_Racing 01-11-2008, 11:24 PM For me it's Toy Story and Cars! I like the stories of both movies and the imaginations they used. Cars has really good sound effects and soundtrack. emiaj 01-12-2008, 12:27 AM From the list, the best movie for me is Ratatouille. But I've seen the teaser/trailer of WALL-E, and its quite intriguing. techiechic 01-12-2008, 11:22 AM finding nemo very funny and heartwarming.. I personally find Boundin' very nice. finally, our ratatouille dvd can take a rest! :) oh, i already voted for Nemo last year, it still is my favorite pixar movie. Nicky 03-18-2008, 09:49 PM That sure is a tough question, because all of them are great. :) But I'm partial toward the Brad Bird films, so...I'll go for The Incredibles...the screenplay just floors me every time I watch it. I've noticed there's really not much love for Cars in general, but I've cried twice or thrice watching it...and I also have a soft spot for the movie, if only for the Michael Schumacher cameo. omegalove 03-18-2008, 09:52 PM Toy story 1!!!!! i watched it almost everyday when i was 9 years old mhfrancisco 03-18-2008, 10:06 PM My most favorite is monsters inc...... i almost cried when i watched it macbro 03-18-2008, 10:06 PM toy story for me, its one animated movie that i actually watched and finished quite a number of times! bedanmick 03-18-2008, 10:10 PM it will always be finding nemo for me... hehe! Theus 07-02-2008, 11:09 AM should update this to include WALL-E, which may snatch from the incredibles and finding nemo the crown as the best animated movie ever... it'll be interesting how movie goers will react to wall-e. read somewhere (TIME i think) that the movie doesn't have any dialogue? that'll be like pixar's short films where graphics & sound effects took over (effectively!). having said that, i'm one of those eagerly awaiting wall-e :) bacchus_3 07-02-2008, 11:14 AM I voted for the Incredibles because it's the movie from the list that made me laugh the most. All of them are great even the pixar shorts are witty and fun. I thought Wall-E is supposed to be out already! morrissey_05 07-02-2008, 11:26 AM The Incredibles Gomi 07-02-2008, 11:30 AM should update this to include WALL-E, which may snatch from the incredibles and finding nemo the crown as the best animated movie ever... ... I've read several reviews already that it is one of the best films (not just animated) of all time. Anybody know when this is showing locally? Kelvin 07-02-2008, 12:09 PM Hand down, Finding Nemo :) whipper25 07-02-2008, 12:35 PM By far, the best Pixar story for me is Toy Story. It set the new standard for animation. And the storytelling was phenomenal. Every single frame moved the story forward. I invite you all to watch it again and see just how complete of an experience it is. You can get the 10th anniversary edition on DVD now. Ratatouille comes in second for me for sentimental reasons. I have a feeling that Wall-E will blow all the previous Pixar stories out of the water though. I have high hopes for this one. mkyoots 07-02-2008, 12:35 PM ranked (my top 3): 1. Cars (I really do love cars...hehe) 2. Finding Nemo (i have pet fishes) 3. Specially Dory which reminds me of my bestfriend who's suffering from short term memory lost. mk 07-02-2008, 06:24 PM Meet The Robinsons is not a Disney/Pixar film. It was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. :) aaah... pero if i remember binili na talaga ng disney ang pixar so technically... and ratatouille came after that Gomi 07-03-2008, 09:57 AM aaah... pero if i remember binili na talaga ng disney ang pixar so technically... and ratatouille came after that Pixar is still a separate entity with Disney as the owners.. but since Steve Jobs is the biggest shareholder of Disney, and owns just over half of Pixar, Pixar is technically now in-charge of Disney's animation studios (http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/06_06/b3970001.htm). mk 07-03-2008, 10:33 AM Pixar is still a separate entity with Disney as the owners.. but since Steve Jobs is the biggest shareholder of Disney, and owns just over half of Pixar, Pixar is technically now in-charge of Disney's animation studios (http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/06_06/b3970001.htm). so I was right? heehee well sort of half right marct 07-03-2008, 07:49 PM the incredibles. brad bird is a genius. chi.mac 07-03-2008, 07:55 PM Monsters Inc. the best! dulcepixels 07-03-2008, 10:17 PM Finding Nemo all the way. :) jsg123 07-03-2008, 11:51 PM I really like the wit and humor of Monster's Inc. kingmidas 08-01-2008, 11:17 PM wall-e is great!
