"Everybody knows that the iPhone can make phone calls, play movies & music, surf the web, and a lot more. But, Will It Blend? That is the question."

Man. That's one way to test how scratchproof your iPhone screen really is .... make a smoothie out of it!

Ouch.

Love the campy-retro intro music tho. :)

(notice how smug he looked when he said "...but I have another!...") :)

There is another gimmick, "Will It Float?" where David Letterman does crazy things with ordinary household stuff. Maybe soon, iPhone will make its appearance in that segment...

Jeeeezzz... From a beautiful, sleek iPhone to ash! :o But wait, their blender missed the metal frame! Tsk tsk... Bawas points! :p He should've set it to "obliterate"...

I must admit that it hurt seeing someone just blend/grind something I can't wait to have. Ouch!

@soloworx: I can't wait to see this in Letterman's "Will it Float" segment, hahaha... I can picture it now in the hands of the "Will it Float" models, Paul Shaffer leading a drumroll, and voila! "It Floats" or "It Sinks" :p

Out of curiosity I took a look-see at the make of blender used in Starbucks Insular Life Makati, and what do you know - they use Blendtec machines - the folks behind the "Will it Blend" series of viral videos. :)

If you were the owner of the iPhone, it think it would hurt you more to see your iPhone disintegrate like that. :p

I wonder if the iPhone will survive if it has an invisible shield or wrapsol in it. :)

I doubt it. But hey, let's see, will it blend? ;)

Funny how he blends it without showing any kind of remorse.

Also check out the blending of an Ipad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAl28d6tbko

On that video, he cheated by not including the aluminum back of the iPad. :p

And he won't show any remorse, he's getting paid to do it and he's done it countless times to other iDevices. And he probably has his own iPhone 4 already. If he didn't, he'd probably have a tinge of regret but still he wouldn't show it on cam. :D

YouTube hits I suppose? But still, even if their blender is that tough, I won't buy it. For sure it'll be priced so high knowing that it blended so many gadgets. :p

Blend-Tecs cost about $400-500 in the US. Vitamix has even more power and is better constructed at the same price. They're used for heavy duty blending: thick veggie soups, nut butters, etc. Osterizers, etc, would burn out their motors if used for these. Vitamix goes for around 40-50k here from resto supply stores.

Good observation! never noticed he didn't include the aluminum back. What a cheat! haha.

That's true! It'll be fun if we were paid to smash up expensive devices. :D
