hey guys...i was just wondering if i could import mp3s into garageband...what i plan to do is import a mp3 instrumental, then try to sing over it..how can i do it??thanks guys:)

add the file into itunes first. open a GB file, then from the Media browser of GB, drag the mp3 file from iTunes into a vacant track. it'll be classified as a Real Instrument track, hence make sure the BPM of the mp3 are in time w/ GB file that you opened. or else it might be offbeat. especially, if you try to add software instruments to the master track

Try this:

Navigate to the MP3 in the Finder, then drag & drop into your song.

Should convert automatically.

Or this:

1. Use 16-bit MP3 files
2. Convert to AIFF
3. Make sure they don;t have any non-standard encoding/protection/etc
