My dad is all out against opening the dash so I can access the aux in of my car stereo. It doesn't have a tape deck. I'm considering getting an iTrip. Please post your reviews, good and bad. I need to know if I should just get one, or go rebellious and have it fixed up anyway.

I'm no audiophile. To give you an idea, I'm quite happy with the stock earphones of my iPod and don't care much for setting up my car for quality sound. I just want to hear my music that's all.

Here's a review online (http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/itrip-review.html). If I recall on the old board, the problem iTrip owners are having are the quality of the sound and finding a clear frequency...

Make lambing to your Dad, to allow you to have access to the aux of your car stereo. Check the model of your headunit if it has more than one aux in. Nothing beats direct connection so far... ;)

I use an iRock, w/c only works w/ four frequencies--88.1, 88.3, 88.5, or 88.7 MHz.

In the city, it's prone to a lot of interference, w/c may be the case for the iTrip, since it's also an FM transmitter. So many wasted chances at listening to my fave music while going around town!

One thing the iTrip has going for it is that it works w/ more frequencies.

I only get to use the iRock to the fullest during out-of-town long drives.

I'll have to agree w/ Mike. Direct connection's still the best! Konting lambing pa kay Daddy may do the trick, Eli! :)

freelancer, does a car stereo have an auxiliary input (baby plug) in the rear ?? Better check, none of them usually do ??

Have seen some cheapie car stereos which already have the baby plug input i the front of the car stereo. :)

I personally chose the iTrip because I don't want to mess around with my dashboard. The sound quality isn't so bad. Just make sure that you don't pass by any radio stations. And if you change/shift cars, it spares you the hassle of messing with another dashboard.

Tom, yeah mine does. There's an extra button that says "MD/Tape" that signals the presence of an aux in. Another friend has also confirmed this. I don't want to have to buy a new stereo. From what I hear, getting it fixed up isn't that expensive.

I want to erase the writing on that button and write "iPod". :D

I guess the iTrip is out. Interference is impossible to encounter on my route. I'll just sneak out the darn car and have it done. I know a few people on this thread have the same setup. Ang hirap ng iPod-spoiled; suddenly a few CDs is SUCH A BURDEN. Hehehe.

Thanks for your posts guys!

I can't see a brand. Basta it's what came with the Ford Lynx. Told ya, I'm not all that particular. :D

Hey TJ, if you get to do it before I do (car is coded on the only day I'm off, for heaven's sake), let me know where, how much and how it went! :D

I'm pretty sure I'm goin to have it done at Mickey's Autosound. That's in the Pasig area near Sta. Lucia East. His cel is 09175299309. I'll u2u the rough estimate he gave me. I don't think I'll be going in a week's time since I'm down with a case of hepa a. Hence my mood...
