Recently fired up an ancient phonogaph and hooked it up to my A/V receiver. All my old albums sound crisp and clear -- with all the snap, crackle and pops to go with it.:) I wanted to know how i could transfer this to my ibook (and consequently load on my ipod or burn to cd format). Got his article from another site but its PC based. Here goes:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Turntable, receiver, RCA-to-mini headphone cable, computer with sound card and read-write CD drive, blank CD-Rs, Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum ($70) or similar software, plenty of disk space, and lots of time. This can take a while.
HOW YOU'LL DO IT:
Connect the cable from the stereo's tape-out to the line-in on your PC's sound card. Run the Roxio SoundStream software and select Spin Doctor. Drop the needle at random spots to check and adjust audio levels. Select the Sound Cleaning presets. Indicate on the Track Splitter that you want each song split when silence is detected. Play and record the album. Check the finished sound files and burn onto a CD.
Can anyone help me find out how this is done on Mac?
Thanks!
