Hi there! lately, i have been experiencing this quite-annoying problem with my 40G 3g iPod:

when i plug any of my earphones (the stock earbuds, Sony MDR-EX71 and Altec Lansing oYoyo), most of the times, the other channel (particularly the left earphone) is louder than the other. when i try to hold, twist and put pressure on the plug a little bit, it gets normal. but the moment i pull out my fingers, it goes back to being AB-normal.

I think, it has something to do with my socket. How do u deal with this problem? Will this qualify for a warranty claim?

Marlon, I think the socket's shot. Kasama yan sa warranty. ;-)

It could be dirty. You can try dabbing a little bit of WD-40 on the socket. That might help. Otherwise, it's covered by warranty.

P.S. I hope that you didn't accidentally plug the wrong end of the earphone in your ear, then plug it back into the iPod. :D

It works!!!! Tama ka 'taray' mod... when our 'Pod's socket suffered from too much earphone plug 'IN and OUTs'... specially pag iba-ibang brand ang pumapasok... sometimes it really needs lubrication
