Never got to learn to play the guitar even though we had one at home..
I studied guitar when I was in grade school and I'd like to think I was getting pretty good at it. Then puberty happened and I didn't give playing enough time. Now I'm rusty as heck and have no time to go back and re-learn everything. I still rue the days I had so much spare time and wish I stuck with it longer.
get a ukelele bro and just jam anywhere. easier chords also.
Wished I took music vs engineering. I was contemplating trying out conservatories when I was in HS. Major in Piano.
Anyways, it taught me discipline. I’m more of a bassist now and I could practice 2-3 hours straight.
Knowledge of reading notes also helped.
Will need to have our piano retuned and fixed. Hopefully someday I get to a buy a Yamaha upright.
My musical frustration is so-called music lovers who never bothered to learn the art and craft of music, yet are the biggest critics of legendary musicians.
Case in point: Quincy Jones' Vulture interview went viral yesterday. And consumers—yes, CONSUMERS—jumped all over him. Quincy made music, and the world made noise. Hilarious!
Best interview I have read, maybe ever. A MUST READ!
the ones who seemed so affected by the interview were the die hard Beatles fans (for his thrashing of their musical talents or lack of it) and some Michael jackson fans ( who claimed that Off The Wall/Thriller made Quincy so he should be grateful to MJ for that instead of suing his estate for some money).
I've always wanted to relearn how to play the piano. I've been putting it off because of reasons e.g. not having a piano, time, etc. I just realized I've been saying the same thing for over 2 decades now. If I don't do anything about it, I'll never find out if I'll be good at it.
there's lot of time... if you know just how to manage it.
In anticipation of my apo coming in September, I'm gonna learn again to play drums...
That way, I can take the noise later on of his own drumming...
