Had my 6+ unit replaced here in Manila 2 days before the phone's 1-year warranty was up. Reason was due to this 'Touch Disease.' Gray bars, flickering screen, ghost-touching, the works.

I was relieved I was able to have my unit replaced on time. Replacement unit arrived a little over a month. Of course by this time, the 1 yr. warranty was up and i didn't have applecare+.

A few months later, the symptoms of the 'Touch Disease' is manifesting on the replacement unit. No grey bars nor flickering screen yet, but the screen is unresponsive a few times a day. Ghost touching also occurs, but only maybe once or twice a day. But from previous experience, this issue will get worse. Sigh.

Question: Do replacement units have its own warranties?

@b0gni , I think its 3 months from the date of release for replaced, repaired or units that have been service by AASP. But please verify.

My wife is getting pissed that her iPhone 6 Plus is experiencing this issue too. Lots of times she can't answer my FaceTime calls because of this.

Sleeping and waking up the iPhone is our temporary workaround on this issue.
Her warranty ended last march :(

so it's clearly a hardware issue. but its not like an LCD replacement would fix it. i have my ip6+ for 2 years now, so far no concerns.

the link above states that there are 2 chips that needs to be replaced and any soldering would not really help in the long run.

    this got me worried.

would anyone know if bhurn and joy fix such issues?

    thanks guys!

Let us wait for this and hoping for the best for 6plus owners.
There are times that pressing the sleep/wake button won't help. Kulang nalang ibato mo na yung phone. But sometimes a simple tap will work and stop the issue. It's like, you are desperate and just trying and doing anything to make it work.

I've been getting this feeling lately. Sometimes it worsens when I clean the screen. I guess it's now more sensitive to pressure being applied all over :((

What is the cause of touch ic failure?
My iPhone 6 is sometimes working by itself or popularly known as ghost touch and sometimes the touch screen is not working.

    What should i repair?
The Touch IC or the LCD touch screen?

    Thanks
I'm looking forward for your help.

While on a call earlier, we experienced again the dreaded 'touch decease'. But this time, when we are trying to perform a hard reset, before the screen went off, the upper half of screen turns into color green or blue and the lower part mostly black and some purple line I think were blue/green part meets. Then the apple logo appears.

I don't understand why do the owners have to pay $149 to correct a fault that many in the industry has deemed that Apple is responsible for?

The first sentence says it all. Apple's carefully worded statement suggests it still seeks to circumvent liabilities by insinuating that Multi-Touch issues are a result of "being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device."

Thats preplexing because I have never dropped my iphone 6 plus prior to it exhibiting all these symptoms.

Still this is really good news from Apple. $150 instead of board replacement = cost of unit replacement is still way cheaper than a unusable phone. But I agree with you. Never dropped the phone also. Why would they ask you to pay $150 for repair if the phone was smooth as silk, no sign of water damage? I hope they somehow give exemption to phones that shows no sign of being dropped.

Am I the only one who thinks that this should be at least $99 compared to $149? Thinking that it is a design problem and has been proven time and time again.
