I'm waiting for stocks of the 38-inch LG 38UC99 and AMD Vega to arrive before ascending myself. :)

I want to be able to game at 75Hz with FreeSync.

I am waiting for Vega as well. Maybe an RX 580 to pair with my monitor.

Is the ultwide monitor you got from amazon, 110v or autovolt?

I honestly did not check until you pointed it out. :p

In LG's website, the input says 100-240V. I assume that's autovolt?

mm...it's actually a mid-tier PC gaming build (at least in my book). So, I got the GTX 1080 Dual OC 8 GB to power my games (mostly RTS, some first-person shooter and the occassional RPG). The monitor is a 28" gaming monitor by Asus and it is G-synced to the Nvidia gpu (144 hz., adaptive refresh) for very smooth framerates and no screen tearing even at ultra settings. Ambient sound caused by noisy air cooler (fans) really bothers me so I opted for the Thermaltake water cooling solution for the CPU with the RGB control for some bling (what the heck) and it keeps my intel CPU under 50 degrees C under load. The triple fans for the cooling radiator is whisper-quiet (thank goodness!). For CPU, it is a latest-gen Intel core i5K, unlocked (up to 4.2 Ghz. clock speed). Good enough. Overclocking is done through software (for minimal hassle). For storage, I got two M.2 Samsung Evo 850 pcie cards. Damn fast SSD. Boot time (cold boot) of my rig is under 8 seconds. Not bad.

I am eyeing a 35" HDR-capable gaming monitor (introduced in this year's CES). Some models are in the pipeline 4th Q 2017, maybe early 2018. When I migrate to 4K gaming, I'll probably ditch the 1080 and go for the 1080 Ti or next-gen Nvidia GPU. As for SLI, I'm not sure since not a lot of games support SLI specially at 4K resolution.

It is a start (or rather a good re-start).

Anyone playing Total War: Warhammer II?

Left handed? My son is left handed, but still uses the mouse on the right. Do you use ASDW or the numeric pad?

My eldest is a heavy warhammer gamer. He just told me “daddy released na pala II?” That’s his own subtle way of telling me it’s time to buy a new game

This thread makes me miss my diablo, C&C, warcraft, half-life, AoE days!

Mm...it is a good game. Lots of micro management and exercises strategic thinking skills. I finished Mass Effect Andromeda 2 weeks ago. Another good game. I dug up my old Steam account and the games I bought more than 5 years ago are still downloadable. Replaying Homeworld and Homeworld 2, my type of RTS games. Playing Titanfall 2. Looking forward to the PC version of Destiny 2, which should be out this October.

When I stopped PC gaming about 5 years ago, my internet connection was crappy. Now with much better connection, PC gaming is better than ever. Prices of games are much more competitive through Steam and Origin. No more trips to Datablitz and Greenhills ;). I love the trialware option (free to play for a limited time so you can make a better decision to purchase or not).

The PC gaming monitor to end all gaming monitors. 144 hz refresh, HDR-ready, 1 millisecond respnse rate and adaptive refresh tech. LUST!
