    Just wanted to share...

I have a 2011 21.5 inch iMac on El Capitan and over the weekend, I noticed that my 500GB internal drive is full (even if it had very limited apps and files!

Opened the Disk Utility and learned that "Others" has taken up so much space on my hard disk...

I did a quick search and found an easy procedure to reformat my iMac without its DVD...

Just wanted to share the following that was NOT included in the above procedure...

    1. My iMac did not allow me to "erase" my hard disk... I had to remove and create a new partition before I was able to erase the hard disk.

    2. Make sure you have a good internet connection, the iMac will download a fresh copy of El Capitan for installation...
