We cannot blame them, smartphones are the really the new point and shoot cameras of today, although i always appreciate the speed, accuracy and clarity of my DSLR, but when it comes mano a mano on point and shoot with smartphones, i believe point and shoot cameras are a thing of the past.

They're shutting down officially in Brazil too, where they've always sold online. Now the Brazilians can only get a Nikon through gray market. Wonder if the Philippines is next.

Nikon will shut down all sales operations in Brazil at the end of 2017

I still have my trusty D90, which I've had for almost a decade. But I've mostly shifted to the mirrorless Canon EOS M6. I've always found Nikon slower to adapt with the changing times.

^Nikon PH slogan might go from "Nikon: Tiwala" to "Ni konti, wala" ;)

The dSLR fad has died... (there was a time when everyone owned a dSLR)

Nikon and Canon didn't jump at the mirrorless bandwagon early enough and both didn't even consider manufacturing smaller sensors (for smartphones)

Action camera (GoPro) is barely hanging on
Snap looks dead (I was honestly waiting for 2nd Gen Spectacles, my daughter loves Snapchat)

Other than smartphones... I can only see 2 cameras used in public... The Instax and Casio's TR series
