^Yeah, and it may not even be Brad who's the smartest guy in that team. It's my old nemesis, Danny Freakin' Ainge
Cavs are down 3-2 in the east and now the Dubs just lost game 5 in Houston. Now both teams are on the brink of elimination. Cavs have Lebron, so anything can happen if they can extend the series to game 7... but first, they'd have to win again in their homecourt tomorrow. The Celtics have the momentum though and I have a feeling that Celtics will finally win a game in Cleveland and eliminate the Cavs tomorrow. And whether Lebron refuses to admit it or not, he looks exhausted. The pace stats showed that he is the slowest player in the playoffs and it's showing in his game, especially on defense. Zaza Pachulia's actually the slowest and Lebron James is second... LOL. As for the Warriors, they had 17 turnovers and that caused them the game. Who would have thought that the Rockets knew how to play defense after all? This series is more unpredictable. If CP3's injury gets worse and Iguodala returns for the Dubs, I think the Warriors can push the series to game 7 and they'll have the chance to defend their title again.
Golden State is falling down, falling down, falling down... Golden State is falling down Just like Cleveland... Everybody sing with me...
And at this point, nobody REALLY knows who's going to emerge the victor in both conferences. Surely, Lebron won't let this one go. They say he plays best when his back is against the wall. Surely, Golden State can and will do everything to claim the West. Steve Kerr seems comfortable where they are right now. He not worried. But then again, strange things can happen....
Win or loose... if you're the Celtics. If Lebron moves to the West next year... do you trade either Hayward or Kyrie to let your young players grow, and save cash in the process? Or keep both of them to ensure your team is better than the 76ers and Bucks?
not a knock on the Cavs nor the Warriors (on the contrary) but the 2 ongoing series just goes to show how difficult it is to get to the NBA Finals, win it & then defend it the year after. if the Cavs/Dubs make it to the Finals, it would be their 4th consecutive year participating in the big dance. I can't remember any 2 teams doing it for 4 straight years. maybe boston-La in the early 60s but that was a completely different era of the NBA.... In any case, this is further proof of how great those three-peat / back to back champion teams of the Lakers, Bulls, Pistons & Heat were. CP3 & his hamstring... hmm.. so close & yet so far.....
I loved the look on Draymond and Klay's face after that fateful turnover. Klay's glance to Steph before helping Draymond up spoke volumes... If it's not obvious, I'm not a fan of Draymond and the Dubs. LOL! Cavs and Warriors both on the brink now. Who'd have thought...
i still like the Warriors (not a fan though ) to win the series against Houston since their talent is just immense but if you are Daryl Morey this is definitely what you dream about. Even without CP3 in the next 2 games Houston can steal this series with an MVP type game from James Harden coupled with one crazy shooting game from either Eric Gordon, Gerald Green, Trevor Ariza or PJ Tucker. Factoring the Law of Averages, James Harden is due for an explosion, it could be game 6 or 7. I am quite certain he will drop at least 30 in one of the next 2 games.
The young Celtics wasn't up to the task. They were unable to win game 6 in Cleveland and now the pressure is on their side... they now have to protect their undefeated playoffs record in their homecourt to reach the finals. I'm not sure if they're ready to fight against Lebron in a game 7, but I'm cheering for them. In the West, the CP3 injury will really hurt the chances of the Rockets to finish the series. Now, Harden has no other choice but to carry his team on his shoulders. More than anything, the Rockets will miss Paul's toughness and leadership. The Warriors should be able to win 2 games and reach the finals again.
With a game 7 on the line, you bet Lebron will once again do the incredible and carry the Cavs on his back, if but for the final time. He's just unstoppable right now.
Warriors rediscovered Splash ball in Game 6, recognizing that KD iso-ball is not their best style. Great crowd, too, in what could be the final game of the season at Oracle.
GSW dodge a Rocket w/ that 17pt deficit before the WCF G6 half.. Watching Klay shoot his 3s with effortless ease is Porn 2x Game 7s
I'm also hoping the Rockets reaches the finals... Just a message to the other players (and teams) that there's a "formula" to beat GSW Otherwise, we'll just see other players trying to join GSW next year to win a Championship OR other teams letting go of veterans and "investing" on youth while waiting for GSW's core to age.
In the end, the lack of veteran leadership ruined the Celtics' chances for a Cinderella finish. Rozier couldn't handle the pressure and it was clear that the substitute point guard lacked the composure to be the court general for the Celtics. So Lebron is going back again to the finals. Probably his last as a Cavalier.
Unbelievable. Much respect for LBJ. Congrats to the Cavs and all their fans (and Lebron fanatics)! Boston has nothing to be down about. They did their best, and obviously they need more experience in these types of games. Maybe 2019 will be their year, hopefully with Kyrie and Gordon back in the lineup.
