I am anxiously waiting for the upgrade to come out. I presently have a 2009 13" mbp upgraded with an ssd drive. Still doing ok but I feel the age when I edit large Image files and do HD editing. I'm so itching to get the 13 rMBP now but holding off until the new one comes out. Hopefully not too long a wait. :(

Same! Almost got one yesterday because I badly need a second unit. The rumored upgrades are too great of a difference. If it was a few tweaks like a trackpad change I wouldn't mind.

How long do you think before it's available with the local resellers after the release?

I'm sure you guys noticed - on the intro video from the last event, (i.e. the video showing Apple terms/milestones), it ended with APRIL 1, 2016.

I'm looking forward to this date. :) Apple sometimes just releases products "silently" :)

The problem with expecting on that day is that you leave yourself open to April Fools jokes. :)

^this talk about Apple going back-to-basics, meaning small but powerful, makes me think that they would go edgy on the new MBP, like:

a 12-inch macbook body but with the specs of an mbp 2016, think about it...

I really hope not. Designers, video editors, and other creative professionals would find it hard to work on a 12inch.

Rumor says a macbook like design for 13 and 15-inch mbp. If this is true I hope they don't drop usb ports for usb-c or if they do at least include adapters but I highly doubt they'll give that for free. One more issue for me would be the processing power, this design means they'll go fanless hence throttled speed.
