iOS9 now available for OTA download I'll download it later as soon as I get home.
should I jump the gun now, or wait for feedback?
Ever since Apple came up with the public beta program, I have always been a step ahead of the current OS on all my devices. Yes there will be the inevitable bugs from time to time, but it is tolerable for me. Apple is quick in fixing known issues in all their public betas anyway. So I have El Capitan and 9.1 but am still waiting for watchOS 2.0. I hope Apple swats the huge bug so they can release the OS tomorrow.
Yup ota download available. Its 1.2gb. Dont plan on downloading as yet. I'll give it a couple of weeks.
just finished downloading and updating... so far so good...
my initial comments: (I am on iphone 5)
the screen / icons look a bit sharper to me.. not sure if its just me or because of ios9..
I got the wallet app, plus find my friends.
I can see the new battery saver option.
got the selfie folder in photo library
notes works as advertised.
keyboard now reflects as small caps or all caps, depending on the usage.
from the lock screen it seems to unlock faster...
no News App... - was looking forward to this one...
Just updated my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 using itunes.
Should I update an iPhone 4s? Who has updated?
Be prepared for a lot of data and bandwidth usage and therefore download time. The 2GB iOS update is just a start, because depending on the number of your installed apps, there's a ton more to update after upgrading to 9.0. The productivity apps alone (Keynote, Numbers, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) require a total of approximately another 2GB per device to keep them updated to the newly released iOS.
Updated my iPod6, iphone5s & iphone5.
all went well, feels faster. happy with the update.
news is missing(not in the US), but if you change your region to US it will appear. switch back and it disappear again.
deselecting apps from cloud backup does not work.
Tip: after the update, check your settings, close all apps then restart your device a couple of times.
will wait for feedbacks before updating my 4s.
same here, no News app
you can now view the "iCloud Drive app" on your home screen settings - iCloud - iCloud Drive - Show on Home Screen
Yes! No News app. <sigh>
You can set your phone's region to US then reboot to get the News app.
For those running iOS 9.1 Public Beta and want to downgrade to the current iOS 9.0 release, you can refer to this guide: How-To: Downgrade iOS 9.1 public beta to current iOS 9.0 release
Apparently, it's not as simple as deleting your beta profile and doing a software update. You may lose data downgrading as it seems.
Updated mine early this morning. I think the font is better and I like the new Notes.
already done with my upgrades iOS9 on my iP6+ and iPad Air 2 very nice multi tasking
A heads-up: I downloaded 9, and my iPad Air 2 started processing the download ... and then it disconnected. I concluded that it was my third-party lightning connector that was the culprit (otherwise it had worked well for months). Good thing that I did my usual back-up before updating. Reminder to self:
1. Always back up right before downloading updates.
2. Use the original lightning cable that came with the (iPhone, iPad) when updating.
Both my iphone 6 and air 2 had the 9.1 beta. I delete the beta profile and restarted them. Updated itunes and connected iphone and turned on DFU mode and made a restore. itunes automatically download ios 9. Did the same for ipad but selected update and itunes automatically downloaded ios 9.
Updated to IOS 9 on my iPad Air and iPhone6+. All is well, so far, even on my old orphaned apps like Bento and PocketMoney, both are still able to sync with their app counterparts on my iMac running on OS X 10.7.5. Just an FYI for those waiting for real world reviews on the update.
