Apple just announced iOS 9 and here are some of the features so far: - Dedicated News App - Vastly-improved Notes (you can now do sketches, take photos, attach photos, create checklists) - Improved Maps (featuring Transit and Nearby recommendations) - Wallet (formerly known as Passbook), which features more cards now - Wireless CarPlay - Multitasking (Slide Over, Split View, Picture in Picture) - Smarter, more proactive Siri - Low Power Mode Apple Personally, I'm most excited about: News, improved Notes, and Multitasking.
check Johannes link, the list of compatible devices is on the bottom page. its says iphone 4s up, ipad mini up, and ipad 2 up...
Looks like they're using the Apple Watch font ("San Francisco", I think) on iOS and OS X now. Not sure how I feel about that; I just got used to seeing Helvetica Neue on my devices. The other changes are pretty nice though. Looking forward to the new Notes and multitasking features.
I'm excited about Notes because it finally has more meat. Multitasking is something a lot of us have been waiting for and I'm hoping Apple really got it right. However, iOS 9 means it's time to let go of my iPad 2. For while 9 will still run on it, the tasty bits like Multitasking and Split Screen can only run on an iPad Air 2. As soloworx said, my iPad 2 belongs in the graveyard so I guess iOS 9 is the proverbial final nail.
Excited with new notes. I hope they add "folder" feature to get my notes more organized. (Or it has now?)
i find interesting is the move to ios from android, transfer your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, etc to ios device
Good question! So far, there's no indication that it will have folders but I think that would make a good feature. ============ I'm looking forward to News because I read a lot of articles on my iPad. The dedicated app would streamline everything and the fact that it can customize the feeds based on your interests (like other apps) is cool. The new Notes will most likely kick out my other note-taking apps. However, when it comes to sketching, I doubt it could replace the likes of Paper by 51. Multitasking (slide over, split screen, PiP) would really give one's iPad that "new iPad look and feel". It's hard not to get stoked about this (better late than never, I guess).

Just read this in daringfireball.net MOVE TO IOS ★ Another fascinating item that didn’t make it into the keynote: Apple is introducing a new app called “Move to iOS”, for Android switchers: Just download the Move to iOS app to wirelessly switch from your Android device to your new iOS device. It securely transfers your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpaper, and DRM-free songs and books. And it will help you rebuild your app library, too. Any free apps you used — like Facebook and Twitter — are suggested for download from the App Store. And your paid apps are added to your iTunes Wish List. It’s both an Android app and an iOS app.
Playing with new Notes ... can't find how to add a sketch. Can't copy-paste from Evernote. For now, sticking to Evernote.
I'm also excited with the new Notes. I hope that you can have set some notes to have a password before you can read or open that note.
I am loving the iOS 9 experience. There is battery drain, as is expected for beta software. Since I have a battery case, this will be my daily driver One of the features I like: You can now customize the assistive touch. And this is notes.app. You can create a folder Draw Holding two fingers turn the keyboards to a trackpad
^I like that customization of the Assistive Touch as I have been using it eversince. Thanks for the info. Hope they include this in the official release.
